Hi All,

I've been following the aircraft EK use to fly this route and lately it has been fairly old aircraft (10+ years).

Does anyone know if EK has refurbished the first class cabins in some of these much older aircraft? Or is the IFE and seats effectively the very first version?

Not F, but I flew in J in June and it was a very basic hard and soft product. I considered it similar to domestic J.

Obviously, better than Y, but wouldn’t be my first choice. First on the A380 they use to operate was great.

My girlfriend and I flew MEL-SIN-DUB in July. Although the A380 was great with the shower and slightly bigger TV's2, I don't believe the MEL-SIN is a popular leg and we had the whole first cabin to ourselves. Therefore, we much preferred the 777 leg.

I just flew the MEL-SIN EK405 round in F, still a good product though the ICE didnt work so well.
Staff were brilliant, but i would have hated to be in J.
As mentioned, these are still the older cabins.

There is a mix of old and new product on this route, at least in economy. I am not sure what that translates to in First. EK 404, late October, newer plane, EK405 late October old plane (with old IFE and boxes under the seats), EK404 this week back to new plane.

Is that the ones with the angled beds in J?
If so I flew that to ADL awhile back and it was horrible

Yes thats the one, I was in F though. J looked mightely terrible.

My cabin of 8 suites, had 4 pax.

We flew it in October in Y. Dreadful. Unfortunately have to do it again in April and very much not looking forward to it.
