Anyone had experience in booking a residence and getting access as a HH Gold to the Lounge?

I've been offered access to the lounge at $99/day but wondering whether I'd just get it if I was HHGold anyway and therefore not worry about taking the offer?

Hi Deewhy,

I can give you the email of the lounge manager if you wish to email and ask her.

Thanks Straitman!

Let us know how you go DeeWhy :)

Re: HH Gold lounge access for Hilton Surfers Residences?

Twice I stayed there this year and I got upgraded to Executive Lounge no problems.

Re: HH Gold lounge access for Hilton Surfers Residences?

The other way of course is to wait until check-in and see if you get an upgrade. No upgrade then decide whether to use you e-upgrade (others have indicated that is still an option at check-in).

Re: HH Gold lounge access for Hilton Surfers Residences?

Would like to hear from anyone and their success as a HH Gold.
I've just booked 4 trips to OOL via the QF special and now need accomodation for myself +1.
So knowing access is granted then this could sway the accomodation choice.

And what about the Hotel vs Residences ?

Re: HH Gold lounge access for Hilton Surfers Residences?

Does anyone have any experience as a HH Gold getting access to the Executive Lounge when they have booked a 2 bedroom apartment in the Residences? Realise that if you book into the hotel section and get upgraded to an Executive floor that you get lounge access but just wanted to see if a 2 bedroom apartment is considered an 'Executive floor' equivalent type room - or if not, are there any upgrades within the Residences that would qualify for lounge access.

hope this makes sense.

Thanks for your help.

Re: HH Gold lounge access for Hilton Surfers Residences?

Stayed at HSP as gold late last year on a busy weekend. Booked a 2 bed apartment (on a very low rate) and got exactly that, but did also get free lounge access for 4 just by asking nicely at the desk on check in.

Thanks Gonetroppo - much appreciated.

This is a good question. They do definitely view the hotel and the residences as separate entities eg, guaranteed room for diamond is only for the hotel not the residences, and upgrades don't occur between hotel and residences (usually) and there are no "exec" residences (that I know of, although I'm sure the penthouses would command exec lounge access). I've even been told that upgrades are not permitted in the residences (though that has also been descibed as wrong advice by HSP staff and my own experiences dispute it also) I think the suggestion of Gonetroppo is your best bet......smile nicely, be polite and ask sweetly!

I must agree that it seems that way with the residences being run separately to the actual hotel.

The upgrades in the residences is an interesting point though, stayed back in Feb in a 2 Bedroom Residence and got upgraded to a 2 Bedroom Residence Ocean View. I've booked the 2 Bedroom Ocean View for this weekend so will be interesting to see if I get any upgrade (probably no room upgrade, but hopefully get a room on a much higher floor!).

The 3 bedrooms are popular and often no upgrades are available, but they have been known to do it (but I get the feeling it's begrudgingly). I've had 1 to 2 upgrades and 2 to 3 upgrades, but usually the upgrade is just to an ocean view or a higher floor for the type you booked. If you book a 3 bedroom, try your hardest to get the Orchid tower as the Boulevard towers 3 bedrooms are very small. I once received an upgrade from a hotel accessible room to a 1 bed residence, but was told that was not the norm.

My experience as a diamond in april saw me book a 2 br and got a 3br ocean view. Then I asked nicely for 4 in the lounge and was granted it.

Another point of difference with the residences is despite the best suites being available for upgrade in most AU Hilton hotels, HSP has told me an upgrade to a 4 bedroom residence (sub-penthouse) will never happen. I'd be keen to hear if anyone has proven that wrong ;).

Re: HH Gold lounge access for Hilton Surfers Residences?

Hi Guys,

Hopefully this is not too off topic, are there any free car parking around HSP? I am looking to stay for 4-5 nights at HSP and will be getting a rental car.

Thanks,
K.

If you stay at the hotel, you can park inside the hotel carpark in the basement. No charge IIRC.

Oh ok. I wonder how much that will set me back or just park on the street if there are any available.
