Are any of the 777's on the EK405 route (MEL-DXB) running the upgraded 1st class suites (Game changer?)

Or is there a way to lookup a flight number, check the aircraft rego they are using on a particular date in the future? FlightRadar24 only shows through to March, I'm trying to crystal ball in July and then cross check that tail rego against a list of upgraded 777's

Game changer - no. I believe those are not being refitted and emirates doesn't deploy it on the Aussie routes.

Upgrade to the "new" business class (1-2-1 config instead of their infamous 2-3-2), that is indeed possible. They retain their original 777 F suites which are still solid products albeit not the 380 or game changer suites.

Thankyou. Aligns with the research I've done. Just needed that additional opinion to get my thinking right

Flew the new F on 777 DXB GVA couple of years ago. Just fabulous. But limited rollout, mainly European routes. They are not in a hurry to upgrade Australian routes AFAIK. Here’s one link showing flight numbers

The problem is they stopped upgrading the game changers period. The current 777 refurbishment program updates business economy and adds PE but only just refreshes F.

I believe they initially were just going to wait for 777X but if I were to guess right now they might just be working on a completely different F product as it wont be long before even the game changer hits a decade.

What a turn of events: Emirates brings ‘game charger’ first class to Australia

I made a speculative booking when the route was announced in December with the reward release for September 25 in the opposite direction DXB-Mel and guess what, my seat map has now game-changed!

Did they keep the first class upgrade under wraps, or have they reallocated 777s from other routes?

Wow that is unexpected. Maybe the QR pressure is also working out here.

No they have very explicitly said their 777 refurbs werent going to include the game changer so this must be coming out of a route somewhere.

I can confirm this. I booked EK404 for July and the seat selection for business starts at row 3.
