Our first EK flight AKL to SYD in J was exceptional. Have never flown EK before and thought if this is how good they are, they have won me. Seems as though we were just lucky to have a fab crew.

Have always had good crews on EK in F and J. Just lucky?

The variability of service is why I decided not to book EK F SYD - DXB - JFK, and reconsidered my EY booking in F Apartment. SQ F all the way

We didn't have a good crew J from Sydney to BKK. Service no better than economy. Wrong orders. Drinks sparse. Forgot immigration paperwork. Rarely sighted in the cabin. We decided we had only paid for comfort not service.

Thankfully the only poor service in 7 Emirates flights.

am I the only one who finds it odd that a 'premium' long haul airline doesn't offer pjs in J?

FWIW BNE - SIN is under 8hrs (just, at 7:55) and I did get PJs on that flight last time.

My ref. was to QR.

Expected PJs on DOH-KUL which was not provided because flight was sub-8hrs. That's the explanation given.

Yes they do. I've flown several long hauls in J on CX and never failed to get an amenity kit :confused: :?:

Oh. Yes. You are totally right. It was just the PJ's missing. It was actually a lovely folder containing Jurlique (a client of ours - sorry Jon!)

It was Singapore Airlines J class that provided nothing.

I am always happy but sad flying Singapore in J because the seats and food/wine are always great but they would be even better whilst wearing pjs...

Since QF is such a poor option for redeeming points if you don't have status now, I am looking at alternatives and it sounds that SIN is still going to be a better option than Emirates

Well it's good to know a plat Qantas flyer that has more unused QF PJ for Emirates flights ;)

I have done a fair bit of flying with EK over the past 12 months, on many diffenent routes, such as:
* SYD - AKL
* SYD - BKK
* BKK - HKG
* BKK - DXB - ZRH
* ZRH - DXB - SYD
* SYD - CHC
Most flights in J, some in F, a few in Y.
I have always experienced good service from EK, across all cabins
EK service is different to other airlines such as SQ. I find SQ more polished and more formal.
EK in J &F on A380 is more like a "party in the plane" atmosphere.
Overall, I am very happy with the EK offering.
