Emirates Premium Economy

Beano, we were in PE on the A380 from Melbourne to Dubai and in Y from Dubai to Lisbon on the 777, same on return. The three PE bathrooms on the A380 are in the nose at the front of the PE cabin and were plenty for the PE passengers apart from the fact that the free or occupied lighting system didn't work well. I haven't kept up to date on the Emirates program for introducing PE on their 777's so don't know how that is progressing. As mentioned in my earlier post we could not book PE on Emirates using the QF site; I assume that has not changed. So, we did miss out on QF points and SC but life is too short to worry about that!

Thanks. Glad I was not encroaching on PE territory. I've just looked on the QF website and can book MEL-DXB in PE in May 2024, but not the whole trip , WLG-MEL-DXB-MAD.

Glad you can find something that suits. My wife and I did the Lisbon trip together and our TA booked aisle and window seats for the Y legs, hoping for an empty middle seat. It didn't work on the way up to Lisbon but on the way back to Dubai we did get an empty middle seat so had the three seats to ourselves and more room.

wow, never tried that when travelling with MrsB, though on Qantas I do get the ailse seat free. Must try that next time. I suppose I could invite the middle seater to change seats.

Many thanks for the reports on PE - sounds like the way to fly!

Well my first EK flight in a long time, and first as a QF Platinum. Got an op-up at the gate from Y to PE for SYD to CHC.
Nice. This was common a few years back but others have reported that Op Ups for QF WPs had dried up.
Classic Reward booking?
SYD+1 and I both had EK Op Up J->F on a QF CR booking! Red light and beep boarding in DXB from the F lounge.

We have had several of these. One in Bangkok. Was worried something was wrong with my BP. Needn't have worried. I was just Silver and partner was SG.

Great to read that Emirates are offering Premium Economy from Sydney to Europe return - wish they offer the same from Melbourne as looking at making a booking this year - been suggested I delay booking
One year on have booked Premium Economy Melb to Dubai looking forward to it

Hope I can ask this question here ....

If I have QF Club Membership, and booking a PE flight on EK metal, but with QF flight number ...

Will I get QF Lounge access ( at Sydney departure and at Dubai stop-over ) ??

Emirates is adding Premium Economy service to several more destinations over the coming months including GVA, HND, BRU and EDI. DXB-KIX was also upgraded recently to a refurbished A380 with Premium Economy.
