Emirates Restores Melbourne-Singapore Connection

Every QF executive should be forced to fly on QF (... in Y) so they understand the level of service and amenity that currently exists or otherwise.
Moreover, this should be incognito without the crew knowing who they are along with no status based privileges,

They are well aware of what is on offer
Bit like the Woolworths dramas early last decade. Lack of investment in the product and experience, increasing margins, oh then came a resurgent Coles who killed them plus Aldi.

They will continue the monopoly sky high margin stuff until they can’t, which would generally involve someone else cutting their lunch.

Thanks for the heads up. Sadly, the Qantas Flounge doesn't seem to open in the morning to accommodate AF though (have got EK405 booked on Sunday in late March in F).

Does anyone have any views about whether the Qantas business lounge or EK lounge in SIN would be better to use on arrival?

Well, this is mildly annoying. As I‘m on an award ticket, I cadged a ride out with my dad and his partner who I’ll join in Catania after my F odyssey. I was hoping to drop my bags and go to the Qantas F lounge in MEL but unfortunately, one can only check-in three hours before departure (rather than it being open at any time as happens at some airports). This means no QF F lounge time before the flight sadly.

Anyway, the Emirates MEL lounge is pleasant enough with Veuve and the ingredients to make Boulevardier coughtails but I still await the start of the F experience. Only two more hours…

I was randomly searching and reaslised the EK SIN - MEL is only $90 SGD for taxes for F. BUT if you then set it up as a return flight the next MEL - SIN leg is also super cheap. Random dates for just looking around.

Yes, a little hidden anomaly! It also works for open jaws issued from SIN. Despite this, I've still not tried the 03:25 departure, and not that keen to, even in J or F, I preferred it when it departed at 18:00 or 19:00.
