Was looking at the latest VA site this morning - curious as to how the complientary lounge passes per 100 status points is progressing. I may be missing something but I can't see it listed on the site any longer. I was sure it was under the benefits marked as "coming soon". No longer there - or at least I can't see it. I wonder if this is simply an oversight or a QF style "enhancement".

See http://www.velocityrewards.com.au/content/Info/LoungePass/index.htm

To me it reads as though it has been implemented. However I found it via a search and cannot find it listed under any menus on either the Velocity or main DJ website as a benefit. Perhaps it's a benefit they are giving a low profile?

Has anyone received a lounge pass of late?

That being the case, I should have received another lounge pass - alass my velocity account shows no such pass....

I imagine there should be a lot of us here that should have complimentary lounge passes based on this. Personally I don't think I will ever use them given the generous allowance with Platinum - but it would still be good to know what has come of this benefit.

I had always assumed this would only apply to people whose status does not grant them lounge access. I can't see the point in giving people like me a dozen free (non transferable) lounge passes.

I guess if you go in with an entourage in tow then they would come in handy. Not worth collecting though. I have a few dozen Ansett lounges passes - not doing me much good. :(

I just clicked over 100 SCs with my flight on Sunday - nothing's been added to my account, though the points have posted.

I thought the opposite, the passes would allow you to guest more than your limit, be it 1 or 3.



Me too, thought it was something of a thanks for continuing to fly with us thing

I am sooo waiting for this, as I'm just short of gold. Asked about it at the Sydney lounge last week- angel at the desk didn't know about it, but suggested I pop into the lounge for a look (until my flight was called!)
Thanks Virgin!!

Well, from Lounge Pass| Velocity Frequent Flyer :
"All members are entitled to receive a complimentary lounge pass for every 100 incremental Status Credits earned since joining the program.
The pass, valid for 3 months, may be used at any domestic Virgin Australia lounge on presentation of your membership card and boarding pass for same day travel.

If a member already enjoys access to the Virgin Australia lounge, the pass may be used by an accompanying guest who is travelling with you."

The point, in your case, would be to guest in others traveling with you.

Not all are in the same boat (plane?) as you 777. I'm keen for this. Usually, I fly solo. From time to time, I have my wife, 14YO and 11YO. Just managable under gold + 1 + 2 x .5s (even though one .5 is a bit old, the lounge angels have always obliged us). Occasionally, my 18YO (and now BF) flys, so the extra lounge passes are a must for those times.

Good move by DJ.....just hope it does eventuate.

The passes are only valid for 3 months? IIRC the old passes were valid for 12 months?

Oh well, that's a form of pass control. I'd guess for most elites unless you regularly bring a lot of people in, you'll keep a stable number of passes else they'll just expire.

The passes are only valid for 3 months?

That sucks. Would have been nice to be at least 6 months, but preferably 12 months. I can just see me in the same situation as reported by some silver members. Turn up to use the passes and find they "disappeared" from my account "yesterday" :(

I would have thought these would occasionally be useful traveling with extended family. But this is rare and given the expiry of 3 months, probably useless.

This is what you now get when you click on the old link:

It appears that the page /content/Info/LoungePass/index.htm does not exist!
It may have moved, or it may no longer be available.

I have 300 scs this year and no mention at all of these extra lounge passes....

Appears then that this has gone.....:(
