Update: Just booked our free night at the W Maldives. We were allowed to book the Ocean Oasis as it was one of the room types avail under the offer. Have emailed the W asking them to cancel the last night of our original booking and link both bookings together - can't imagine they'd have any issues as theyre getting more money from this new booking! (original booking was on industry rates)

FYI we were even offered the Ocean Oasis with lagoon view which is more expensive than the standard Ocean Oasis. Turned it down as we can't be bothered changing rooms.

That's next year's annual fee paid for! Or at least an extra pair of shoes...

Has anyone tried redeeming their complimentary night recently? I just called up this weekend, and even though the offer was valid, and the property I wanted was available for my chosen dates, they could not book it because the offer code no longer worked. I have been told that the issue has been forwarded to the marketing team for review on Monday... Given the deteriorating standards of AMEX in recent times, I am not confident they will be able to resolve this quickly (i.e. before I head overseas on Tuesday).
