Entering a QF lounge with QR WP and then changing to your QF FF #

It seems the main issue with lounge staff was you changing the FF number once inside the lounge. Now you know to just leaving the booking and boarding passes with your QFF number and show your QR card to access the lounge.
thats what i intend to do.

Apologies if this has been clarified elsewhere but have QR actually issued physical cards to those who were status-matched?

Or is it sufficient to show a digital card?

No physical cards have been sent out during Covid-19. Digital cards via the app will suffice.

Unfortunately QR don't have a proper digital card in the app or one that you can add to Apple Wallet (or similar), so I've got a copy of the digital one saved as a picture on my phone.

I've been able to add mine to Apple Wallet.

As discussed, there is no need at all to have the QR number on the booking or boarding pass because no QR frequent flyer points can be earned on a QF domestic flight. Only QF points. QR status gains lounge entry.

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

How did you manage that? I've searched the website, app, Google, can't figure it out.

It would need to be there to select seats up front and for the system to recognise luggage allowance before it was changed to QF.

There are reports of QR Q points and miles being earned on red e-deals

See post 565 in this thread - Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

I have not been credited anything to my QR account for a domestic QF flight taken 8 days ago where I used my QR FF number at check in but didn't change it in the lounge. I haven't been given the 1000 Qmiles for downloading the app either.

I don't recall the specifics, but I'm sure I clicked on a button that said "add to wallet" somewhere. Perhaps in the app? I'm not tech savvy so it must have been easy :-)

Sorry, didn’t think of that. So after completing booking and before checking in, change to QFF to earn QFF points from the flight and be printed on boarding pass (useful if needed to claim missing points). And QR status remains the means to enter lounge.

How much does QF get to charge QR every time someone uses a QR card to get into a domestic QF lounge? Does anyone know?

I seem to recall its $50USD for an international lounge....? Could be way off though.

This was discussed in the VA status match thread but without much certainty. There was also some uncertainty if QF would be pleased about the status match but one upside was the increased revenue from charging QR for all the VA refugees.

This was mentioned in the AFF newsletter today. Passenger is flying QF metal so QF pays for the lounge use.

I've tried to change to QFF through MMB but the FF field is blocked out from making any changes.

The QR status match was just the push I needed, ( that and the $$ VA have of mine for a USA trip) so ive started the long journey to build up QF status. QF SG will be my goal, already have 6, BNE-TSV-CNS-BNE trips for worked booked, every fortnight for the next couple of months.

You've got a decent slog ahead of you but with VA's treatment toward you stoking the fire it'll be a doddle :)

I don't travel anywhere near enough to get to QF SG but if international travel were possible QR would be getting my $$. Shame that QFd flights on their own down count for QR. Keeping OWE for an extra year would be do-able.

So im typing this reply, from outside the QF TSV lounge.
Denied entry as i dont have my QR WP number on my BP.
Even after showing them the confirmation from the QF team, and the AFF forum story.
They were happy to change my QF NP to QR WP, but for the 30 mins before the flight, it wasnt worth it. ( im traveling on works dime anyway)
Just very frustrating.

Yep. Lounge agents are a law unto themselves. Published T&Cs worthless.

Perhaps you can get their name and pass it on to @AFF Editor who might be able to follow this up with QF?
