Entry requirements Qatar

I have a return trip from LHR to MEL with a 7.5 hour transit in DOH mid-February, does anyone know the latest situation for entering Qatar on an Aussie passport ?

My thoughts were to go through immigration and get some fresh air and maybe use the arrivals lounge to freshen up and even go for a quick bite somewhere. Answers would be appreciated.

I was there last week for about 3 days. Normal visa on arrival is back following the world cup.

The QR desk at point of departure just wanted to confirm destination (which for us was Doha), checked passport validity (I think they wanted at least 6 months) and that we had a hotel booking.

Not sure how that might work on a transit, but should be doable.

I think there is also a tool on the QR website where you can check eligibility, etc, similar to the OW one above.

They're still going Transit Tours | Discover Qatar. I was in transit in November and wanted to do the city tour but couldn't get a Hayya card.
