Etihad will apply a carrier charge on their GuestSeat from July 8. $50 per sector in Economy $100 in Business and $150 First might apply to bookings from AA too?
I need to book flights to Europe next year but the seat wont open until a few weeks after July 8. Should I take the risk and make a booking before July 8 and change later?
Etihad says if we make a booking before July 8 and change later, we wont be impacted. The terms and conditions at the time of booking will remain in force.
I'm not quite sure what terms and conditions AA uses.
Changes to GuestSeats
AA wont be charging this

Thanks smit0847. That's good to hear. I thought it would be similar BA Carrier Imposed Surcharges
I called AA to enquire about EY J award seats. Despite them being available as the cheapest guest seats at ey.com, AA told me they 'hadnt been released yet'.
HUACA?
How far out?
Lucky was reporting problems accessing EY space. Etihad First Class Awards Using AAdvantage Miles Are Back - One Mile at a Time
Can't see any A380 First Class availability all the way from now through April next year in GuestFirst on the Etihad website from SYD-AUH. There is availability in the more expensive point wise categories, but no GuesFirst which is what AA can book. Hope they come back.
Also AUH-LHR has also gone on the A380 in First.
I was just checking my existing EY F booking using AA miles and went to select seats on the EY site under my Guest log-in and the EY Record Locator. It found the booking, but no can select seats - "problem with payment". I'm not concerned about that, though.
But then I went to enter my passport, e-mail and phone details. I selected '61 Australia' as the international phone code and it keeps confirming as '61 - Cocos and keeling Islands'![]()
What do you mean by this? They're still wide open on AUH-LHR.I dont expect A380 F awards to come back for AA
