I can't see anywhere to select seats on the Virtually There sabre page where I am directed when I Manage My Booking on the EY homepage.
Can anyone please advise how to select seats ?

Thanks

If you booked online, use the Modify booking rather than View/Print Itinerary. Then there's a drop down menu for additional services, and one of them is Select Seats. If you booked through an agent, you have to get them to do it for you.

Sure does work in Dublin .. even to the Hilton Airport Hotel. (Which is a far way from airport actually.) :)

I think tipping the drivers about 5 Euro for such a thing is about right.

Does anyone recall the company name doing it in Ireland?

Driver gave me a card which I lost, and now need to book them now for return flight in 2 days.

How do you set a TIME for pick up .. or does Etihad decide that?

You have to book the chauffeur through the web site or the EY call centre at least 24hrs before your flight.

Usually, (not for AUH, they ring you and then set the time) you will get some pick up time options on the web page. The chauffeur usually (but not always) contacts you (or somtimes your hotel) 36/24hrs out from pickup, and you can usually confirm/change the time at that point.

So I would make sure your pickup is in the system, then ring the call centre for the Hire car company phone number if you want to talk to them.

We are currently faced with the dilemma of if it is a bit much(or not) to to book a chauffeur from the CDG Airport Hilton to Terminal 2 CDG...............

Have a great trip!

With the EY J chauffeur drive, you only get two pickups per ticket if you are not an elite FF member. What happens if you become an elite while you are 'away'?

I will be VA red when I leave for the outbound sectors, but as long as everything credits correctly and in time, I will be VA SG when I leave for my inbound sectors. If I select the two pickups for my outbound sectors now (home-airport and airport-hotel), once I become VA SG, will I then be able to select the remaining pickups to get me home (hotel-airport and airport-home)?

Do we know if Etihad are honouring prior bookings for Chauffeur drive related to a Z class booking? Or are they enhancing like QF did with the U.S. Service.

need to change pickup address
no where on the website you can do that once booked so have to call the airline at an exorbitant rate from hotel last time cost me $A40 for 40 min call
can't use Skype to call a landline either from UAE for anyone that thinks you can.
\ so have to wait till they call then give address as I have a a piece of luggage at another hotel and i doubt they will stop even when going past.

Thought I may as well outline my experience with EY Chauffeur Drive. Travelling on EY First (outward SYD-AUH) and Business (inward AUH-MEL) using AA miles.

I couldn't book a car on-line; it kept giving an error half way through. So I called the Guest line and they booked it for me, no problems. They said I couldn't book on line as it was an AA ticket number, but others have since said that they HAVE booked on line with a AA ticket number, so who knows.

I only needed a lift at the end of my outwards journey and to commence my return journey. I booked (over the phone) a car to take me to my Dubai hotel for about 3 hours after arrival (ie 9:00 time, not 6:00 arrival), as I wanted to freshen up and I didn't want to arrive at the hotel too early. The phone guy said that no pick-up time needed to be specified, but he put it in the system.

I promptly got an e-mail confirming 6:30am pick up time, followed a minute later by one confirming the 9:00am pick up time.

On the day of my flight, I got another confirmation e-mail from Etihad Chauffeur confirming 6:30am pick up. The SYD Etihad lounge kindly contacted Abu Dhabi and corrected the pick up time, which was confirmed by e-mail almost straight away. Followed by one half an hour later reverting to the original time!! Lounge people also said that at AUH, I didn't need to specify a time (not sure if that's because I was in F, or in general).

I got two further e-mails conforming the 6:30 pick up time, while I was in flight!

In the end, went to the CD drive desk in T3 at about 8:00am. No car ready, so I waited ~15 mins for one. Nice ride to Dubai.

Pick up was to be from by Abu Dhabi hotel to the airport, 8:00am. The day before, while I was still in Azerbaijan, I got a phone call; no call ID and as it was to my mobile, going via Australia, quite a scratchy line. I finally figured out that it was CD and they were after my hotel room number. Gave them short shrift, as it was an expensive enquiry for me and I said I'd be in the lobby!

I got an e-mail confirming pick up time a bit later and another one the morning of the ride.

Great service, but a few glitches there. Message seemed to be that they ALWAYS send out an e-mail confirming a time about 30 mins after scheduled arrival time (at least in AUH); you can book another time, but they'll still confirm the 1/2 delay time. If you do book an alternative time, you MUST be there within 30 mins, else ride will be lost (but if you are in F, I think they would accommodate you.

Every airline that offers CD calls you 24-48 hours prior. If you don't wish to pay for roaming, then set the destination number to where you will be the day prior.

Even if they can't reach you the car will still be booked.

Interesting, thanks. I wasn't called in Oz re the pick-up in AUH, though; hence my surprise at the call for the return pick-up. But what they lacked in calls at that stage they certainly made up for with e-mails!

The emails would be automatically generated. It's possibly they called but the roaming did't work.

Definitely, re auto-generation but it was odd and a bit off-putting that I received one for the earlier, non wanted time 1 minute after I received one for the later, correct time (as re-arranged by the EY lounge staff)! A confirmation of a pick-up time should be just that - a 'confirmation' of the actual pick-up time, not the time that the computer thinks would be good.

The phone call I didn't get was when I was in Australia.

It is also available using VA points on EY metal. I booked J award flights BNE-SIN-BNE and the chauffeur was used on each leg
Thanks, Major!!
I was trawling through post after post to get this answer.
I do hate AFF'ers who proceed to the end of a thread and post their question without doing the hard "reading" yards.... :)

On the subject of EY J redemption using VA points, how do I get to "manage my booking" or to choose seats. VA website says you can't choose. EY website won't recognise booking ref.
(Happy to be pilloried for NOT doing a forum search if this post yields a solution!)

Duffa, I recently did an EY J redemption through AA - once itinerary received, I called them back and asked for the EY booking reference, went into EY MMB and chose my seats, booked chauffeur. So I would give VA a call.

I'm taking a trip to Dublin at the end of the month in J and I have booked the Etihad chauffeur for the pick up on arrival and also the outward bound trip from Dublin -- my question is about the 50 Klms distance from the Airport ! is that 50 Klms driven to an address? or 25Klms to and from the nominated address?

Hi spudseamus,

It's 50km all included, so if you live 50km away from the airport, that's fine :)

Are you using the EY booking ref, rather than the VA one to use MMB (I'm not sure if they are actually different, though ...)? If they are different, VA should be able to supply you with the EY one.

Other than that, just call them (its global call centre, so anytime will do). I did that when I couldn't book a chauffer on MMB, although I could do seating. Very helpful.

Edit: Oops, I see I'm just repeating what Bazzi wrote ...

Just another answer for you Duffa ;)

I'm booked in EY J via VA points (very excited!). Called VA. It's a different PNR, so they gave me the EY one. Once you have that you can manage the booking (including booking chauffeur) directly through the EY website.
