Are people still consistently have to submit claims to VA to chase up missing miles for flights flown on EY either as an EY or VA flight number?

Yes, it's quite frustrating! They end up crediting in the end, but it's quite a tedious process having to individually do it all the time.

So it looks like nothing has changed since I flew on a VA flight operated by EY last year! Flew VA7011 on Sep 30 from AUH-LHR and still waiting. Will be able to a missing miles claim this coming Friday. Have to say that my Delta flights post very quickly.

Yes happened on recent flights I just took with EY

What I found was even though the VA FF# was in the EY booking system it was not actually added to the ticket(boarding pass).
First flight in the Etihad lounge the staff said you don't have a FF# added to your ticket. I explained I booked on the EY website and added the the VA FF#. This booking could be seen in my Velocity bookings. The EY agent added my VA FF# number manually to my ticket and re-printed the ticket(boarding pass). I noticed in the bottom right of the ticket it now had my VA FF# which was not on the previous ticket (boarding pass) that had been printed by VA since I have a domestic flight first.

The ticket that the EY agent re-printed and manually added the VA FF# the points came through with no retro claim required.

On the next flight I gave my VA FF card to the agent on checkin, however I noticed this ticket (boarding pass) was printed with NO VA FF# number in the bottom right hand corner of the ticket (boarding pass). This ticket again was in the Velocity system as it was attached to my VA FF# from the EY online booking system. This ticket did not get points or status credits and I needed to make a retro claim.

From now on I will always check my EY ticket (boarding pass) in the bottom right hand corner to ensure my VA FF# is displayed to ensure I will get points/SC credited with having to do a retro claim.

Hope this helps

I presume when you say "ticket" you mean the boarding pass you were issued with.

For the AUH-LHR flight I did for which the miles haven't shown up yet, it shows my VA FF # directly below where "J CLASS" is printed. Mind you, this BP was printed by VA in Sydney when I checked in for my VA29 flight from SYD-AUH. However based on your experience I will double check my boarding passes when I do my return flights on EY.

I have updated my post with (boarding pass) to make it a little more clear.

Thats the case for my boarding passes as well. Printed by VA and only the domestic VA leg had the VA FF# on it. The rest printed by VA to fly on EY had no VA FF# details.

I just did a check of my itinerary via the Etihad web site and it definitely shows my VA FF # under the heading of "Loyalty Number". So it would appear my VA FF # has been correctly recorded.
