What a shame Germany, Italy, Spain, France and England stacked on same side of the draw. Some cheap quarter final and semi final spots up for grabs.

Germany - Portugal/Belgium final?

Hopefully Portugal gets knocked out or we might have the worst Euro winners since Greece.

As a dual German and Australian citizen, I'd be very happy with either final but Germany has never beaten Italy at major tournaments, so this will be a very interesting quarterfinal on Sunday morning...

England, just amazing and lots of great images and videos, for example of the Iceland players celebrating with the fans after the win or the commentator when the final whistle was blown: https://twitter.com/GissiSim/status/747539889940475906/video/1

This one could also be in the brexit thread: :)

Was just in Brugge for the Belgium-Hungary demolition. Great atmosphere to the place, giant outdoor screen and lots of happy peeps.

Greece knocked out Portugal in 2004 from memory? It's great when an underdog wins.

Oh and Greece will always Euro 2004 Champions. For some countries that's just a dream....

Not sure I agree with the concept of bad winners.
You've got to get out of the group, and then win four straight elimination games.
Anyone who does that is a worthy winner I reckon.

I'd be happy for Italy to win - with the big beautiful man Graziano Pelle scoring more goals. Not sure they can get past Germany though. We'll see.
Who knows what Belgium will show up on any given day. Ditto Portugal to some degree.
Wales a darkhorse still?
Iceland would be fun but unlikely obviously. Poland the same.

France looking highly likely.

It will be Greece's first and only football highlight. Without a German manager their would be no success.

Coincidently that German coach is a great drinking buddy with my uncle and grand uncle.

Teams that don't look to win but rather wait for their opponent to make a mistake or hoping to get a goal off a set piece.

Germany should be a shoe in to win but if they meet Portugal, expect a penalty shoot out.

Poland is doing well however and is an underdog for sure

#Iceland 2 England 1....oh what joy! #Ioncemetsomeonefromicelandsoiknowallabouticelandicfootball!!!

edit: tried to make super long hashtag...lol won't let me, but you get the message..

Just highlighting how a average German manager can take an even more average Greek team to a Euro victory.

The relevance is even cough teams can go far, i.e 2004.
