Price cuts have been happening for many reasons, BUT of course some have risen in price, but overall they have dropped for the higher end vehicles.

The BMW 335i dropped massively in price as well recently.


The main reason for the higher excess would be insurance premiums keep increasing, my car premiums have gone up more than 20% so we can assume rental car companies have the same issue

The local manufacturer office or importer agrees pricing with the factory in advance, usually every 6 months.

That pricing is then locked in until the next round of negotiations, regardless of currency fluctuations!

If car manufacturers were to alter pricing to suit the AU$ at every shipment there would be chaotic pricing all across the country.

Passed by Europcar South Melbourne this morning and noticed they had a C Class wagon! Doesn't appear on their website though, so may be in the same category as A4 Avant, even though the website doesn't list any similar cars. Would much prefer a C Class wagon to a A4 Avant!
