So I need to hire a car in the Canberra area for a couple of weeks while one of ours is getting some major repairs done.
It seems like an opportune time to try out an EV, and Skyscanner shows some great deals for a Polestar. Europcar has three offices in Canberra - airport (with airport surcharges, so 20% more expensive), Mitchell in North Canberra a long way from the tram stop, and in the Novotel on Northbourne Avenue, right in the centre, walking distance from my workplace.
But the Europcar website doesn't allow you to collect or drop a car to the Novotel office - it doesn't come up as a location. I've messaged them, and that basically was their response. No reason given, they just don't do it.
I can book a car at that location through some third party websites, with RentCarla having the best price. But they have awful reviews. Europcar's own website actually comes up with the same prices as RentCarla, but only for Mitchell (and the airport for $$$ more).
Trying to book through Virgin Velocity gets me nowhere either - like double the price...
