Europcar redemption issue

I have redeemed points for a Europcar car rental.


Total price was $220. I have paid using points and the total points deduction was 33300 (I know some of you will say "waste of points" etc etc... but this is not the point I'm discussing here)


As I'm an Elite Privilege member with Europcar, I have called them to add my membership to the booking (this cannot be done on the Velocity website).


Being an Elite privilege member, I'm entitled to a 30% discount. The price of the rental as therefore reduced to $184.12 automatically.


How do I get the points back for the price difference?

You probably wouldn't be able to get the points back.

It'd be one of those 'redemptions not valid with any other offer' scenarios.

Yes, I don't think the 30% offer is valid for redemption bookings.

I have called velocity and they've ask me to email platinum desk.

will keep you posted on the outcome. If this is the case I would have been better of paying as I think $180 for 6 days rental is very cheap. Ohh well we learn from our mistakes.

I believe you have to call Europcar to get the free weekend rental.
