Hi guys,

Loving this forum and appreciate all the help in advance. Hoping I can continue to return the favour.

Myself and the Mrs are planning to do a big RTW trip beginning in May 2019. The plan is to head to Europe ex Sydney before we have to attend a wedding in KL on 13 July. Hoping for suggestions on what OW Y availability is like at that time of the year when is the best booking window to snag the best seats for 2 people in J. Two biggest factors are:

1. Cheapest taxes and surcharges
2. Available for 2 pax in J

No problem with flying a longer way around as we're not time poor. However, I'd be curious to know what people would suggest in such a situation.

Thank you!

This won't necessarily yield the lowest fuel surcharges, but if you can't find anything else there is normally award availability from Europe to Kuala Lumpur for 2 passengers in J with Royal Jordanian. You would fly from wherever in Europe to Amman, then onwards to KL (via Bangkok).

I'm sure you already know this, but avoid departing from the UK due to the Air Passenger Duty.

Have a look at the website for KUL airport and see which airlines have arrivals from Europe and then choose accordingly. You may have choice including UL, AY, EY, CX and JL for the European leg and back to Australia
