O.K....after migrating to Flyertalk for the past few weeks (as my own namesake too and comments about dodgy MEL Italian restaurant hawkers), I would like to put a question out there :-

Anyone had any luck in finding some of the more 'elusive' spirits out there in the Duty Free ?

I'm specifically after Drambuie Black Ribbon (I can get Cream Liqueur and normal), but have only ever come close in SIN (they'd sold out) and John Walker Gold or John Walker Green. There's a whole family of spirits (if you check their websites) past what we get here on the ground in the normal shops, and some of these more 'exotic ones' are only in the Duty Free

Last time I was browsing the shops, I was surprised to see a thirty year old 'Royal Salute'. The usual is 21 years!

I recall it was about $450.

regards,

Indeed, Gordon....21 years is the norm. :)

And I'm sat here dreaming about how it would taste....I would hope that it's not unspeakably foul like that 'condensed smoke from a bonfire dissolved in phenol' excuse for a whisky called Laphroaig :)
