Hi,

I am looking at just how much I will be using my AMEX QFF Premium card in the future.

The travel insurance is still attractive to me I have to admit.

I have tried to check with Amex the earnings rates for supermarket owned subsidiaries eg Dan Murphy and BWS.

In the past , I have used Amex at these places but want to be sure it is worthwhile to continue.

Amex were unable to tell me the earnings apart from Woolworths etc.

Has anyone found out the earning rate at places like the above?

That's a bit strange ... Surely they can tell you?

Only to repeat what the website shows - have asked for more info though and will report back.

Response from Amex. Looks like BWS , Dan Murphys are not included.

Effective 22 July, 2013, the earn rate on purchases made by you with your Card ending in xx_xx is as follows:

-- 2 QFF points per $1 spent in Australia at major supermarkets, major petrol stations and select Qantas services
-- 1 QFF point per $1 spent everywhere else
-- 0.5 QFF points per $1 at Utilities, Telcom providers, Insurance ( excl. those offered by American Express) and Government.

Purchases made from the following merchants will only qualify for the 2x points under major supermarkets and major petrol stations.

1) Major Supermarkets:

Bi-Lo, Flemings,
Safeway,
Woolworths,
Coles,
IGA,
Franklins,
Fishers,
Fresh Provisions,
Food For Less,
Supabarn,
Macro Wholefoods.

2) Major Petrol Stations:

BP,
Shell,
Caltex Woolworths,
7 Eleven,
Woolworths Petrol,
Safeway petrol,
Peak and Gull.

Thank you for taking the time to chase this up and reporting back.
