Have only flown them 4 times and had exceptional service on every sector (DXB-AMM-LHR vv). In hindsight if I have to fly this again I'd get on BA direct DXB-LHR and avoid the RJ321 non lie flat J class.

For a short SC at the right price I'd have no problems pulling the trigger.

I've done HKG-BKK-HKG a few times, always unremarkable.
I much prefer EK now, even without the SCs.

flew them earlier this year - the a330 was factory fresh and the service was unremarkable (no food really on HKG-BKK sectors, eat up in the lounge).

wouldn't hesitate to fly them in J for SCs as the pricing is good (below CX on this route) - or look to take CX TPE-HKG-BKK if time isn't an issue...

lounge access in BKK as a WP was to TG lounges which was nice (the slumberettes were great after a big weekend!)

I've long wanted to try a RJ J run HKG-BKK or BKK-KUL for the well-priced SCs.

This review is pretty scathing though: A Royal (dis)HHonor: Royal Jordanian Business Class Bangkok to Hong Kong - One Mile at a Time - One Mile at a Time

Has anyone else had any safety concerns flying RJ? What about smoking or the cleanliness of bathrooms?

so the blogger has 15 minutes of bad turbulence. I can appreciate it was frightening, but it made a good story. As for the FA 'helping out the pilots' - i think she was just saying that as a bit of humour.

If it was that traumatic and he really can't recommend RJ, why write a blog about it with the purpose of attracting viewers and generating revenue?

I have flown RJ many times between HKG and BKK and vv. It's perfectly fine - the seats are the same as the AA angled business class seats. The cabin crew are very friendly and the alcohol is free flowing. They have now changed from a full meal service ex HKG to just a refreshment. Make sure you est well before boarding!

Amenity kits are not handed out as standard on these short sectors.

I had a similar "near death" turbulence experience on a LH flight in Europe many years ago.
It doesn't mean LH is not a good airline. In fact it's a great airline and I will not dare to tell anyone not to fly with them just because I happened to have a bad experience once.
Regarding RJ, I flew with them a few times and I don't have any negative comments. Their planes are usually new, the J seat is comfortable and service is OK. they offer a good product in J and value for money compared to other airlines. QF points & SCs is a nice bonus as well.
I will fly with them again next week ;)
