Experiencing SQ's new Regional J on the A330-300

OK I'll bite. Wrong aircraft type on the entertainment information card? :p :D

Wonder if they will print an A330 specific entertainment information card, the illustrations only apply to the long haul seat. The ports are all on different locations on the regional seat.

I cannot see any of the photos. Why do I see a 'Bandwidth Exceeded' message? I tried Googling but the information does not appear to be relevant. I do not have a Photobucket account or Facebook or MySpace....

It means that on a free account.. his images have been viewed too many times, and now have been blocked.

If he pays for premium, they will happily show them

In short, it means Nick C's pictures have been viewed too much. :)

A lot of free picture hosting sites (and free internet hosting sites) limit the amount of bandwidth on accesses per month (or per some time frame). For instance, say your bandwidth limit per month is 500MB and your picture is of size 1MB, then once your picture is viewed 500 times (i.e. 500 accesses of the 1MB picture from the hosting site), you've exceeded your bandwidth for a free account.

Solutions?
  • Find another solution which is not bandwidth limited.
  • Upgrade the account (possibly at cost) to one which has no bandwidth limit.
  • Wait another month (the bandwidth limits are probably monthly) then try again.

EDIT: Flashware beat me to the punch :-|

So effectively, thanks to Photobucket, a trip report without photos. Can anyone see the photos right now?

Funny, I can still see them at my work desktop even though photo bucket is blocked here ... I guess they are still residing in my Cache.

The FT photo gallery has no such limitations and automatically produces a thumbnail, mid size and original version of each image to link to.

Yeah I can still see them too right now - I'm also guessing it's cached (I'm currently using my work computer to access this, which was the first computer I used to view the thread. Contrast this to last night when I posted where I was using my personal laptop at home, which was the first time I'd accessed the thread from that computer.)

On my day trip SIN-KUL-SIn today, I scored one of SQ's new A330-300s but without the luxury of travelling in J, I thought I would post some pics of the Y seats...

To my mind, the CX Y shell seats are better - but I will check that premise this Thursday when I get to spend over 9 hrs in one of them as opposed to 45 mins in the new SQ seats.

Sorry for the quality - I only had my phone with me...

After reading seeing all these piccies, I'm definitely looking forward to trying the new A333 out in J BNE-SIN on 5th April. Got to be much better than the old 772s

Well, today was D-Day for my first SQ flight in 8 months, and my first on one of the new A330-300s from BNE-SIN in J.

First impressions? Light years ahead of the old 777-200s that used to fly that route, seats are very comfortable (more so than the QF J Skyslopes - better padding, better recline options, no massage option though :(), and the new style KrisWorld installed is impressive. Huge screens, and the ability to connect and play from your iPod cannot be sniffed at.
Still had the new smell to it, even though it has already probably got a few flights under it's belt.

Food standards appear to have declined slightly on SQ though. One of the brunch options I chose was granola with a serve of fruit compote and yogurt. Was advised to be careful as "it's still a little cold". "A little cold" translated into meaning frozen solid. Hard as concrete, and had to be left for fear of breaking the china.

Back to reality next, SIN-SGN on one of the old 777-200s that I've just been cursing above. But thankfully it's only a short flight.
