Well, today was D-Day for my first SQ flight in 8 months, and my first on one of the new A330-300s from BNE-SIN in J.
First impressions? Light years ahead of the old 777-200s that used to fly that route, seats are very comfortable (more so than the QF J Skyslopes - better padding, better recline options, no massage option though
), and the new style KrisWorld installed is impressive. Huge screens, and the ability to connect and play from your iPod cannot be sniffed at.
Still had the new smell to it, even though it has already probably got a few flights under it's belt.
Food standards appear to have declined slightly on SQ though. One of the brunch options I chose was granola with a serve of fruit compote and yogurt. Was advised to be careful as "it's still a little cold". "A little cold" translated into meaning frozen solid. Hard as concrete, and had to be left for fear of breaking the china.
Back to reality next, SIN-SGN on one of the old 777-200s that I've just been cursing above. But thankfully it's only a short flight.
