Expiring HHonors points

Did you do any transactions since your March 2016 posts? If not 18 months have gone by which seems to be the usual 12 months expiry period plus 6 months "grace". Even more specifically did you do any transactions in the last 12 months?
Obviously contact Hilton and plead your case. But need to keep track yourself not count on emails. :(
I have not had any Hilton stays in a long time and no points activity. I was Diamond though until earlier this year.

I have been keeping track until a month or so ago and all points were present and accounted for. I was going to book a stay in Bangkok in November but have held off as wife was sick and we then went overseas and when I went to check earlier today to make booking noticed the points had disappeared. I believe the Diamond status had kept the points active for a long time and since the status disappeared Hilton thought it was a free for all.

I take full responsibility but at the same Hilton need to be consistent and not say points "may" expire. They need to send out warning emails as do most organisations. These were hard earned points that do actually have a value even though loyalty programs think they are not worth anything. I have sent Hilton an email enquiring the whereabouts of my points and lack of warning. See where we go from there.

Beyond 12 months you are holding a WW2 grenade without the pin.
I have previously heard of Hilton offering a 'challenge' of sorts to recover points

This is what I call fantastic customer service. Please note this is first response to my request to have points reinstated.

Hi John,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding Hilton Honors account. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us.

Unfortunately, it appears your points have expired due to lack of activity on your Hilton Honors account in the past 12 months.

Fortunately, I’m happy to say that I can restore your previous balance of 96,xx_ points in full to your account. As a reminder for the future, be sure to use or earn points at least once every 12 months to keep your balance from expiring.

On the other hand, to keep your Hilton Honors Points from expiring, you’ll need to do one of the following in any 12 consecutive month period:

· Stay at a hotel or resort within the Hilton portfolio

· Redeem Hilton Honors Points for any reward

· Earn Hilton Honors Points through one of our partners, including through a co-branded credit card

· Purchase Hilton Honors Points

· Donate points through The Hilton Honors Giving Back Program

Apparently points are expiring on 01 August 2018. Lucky I noticed the email they sent today.

An earlier warning would have been nice but not the end of the world. Where is the expiry date on the Hhonors website?

I just purchased 5,000 Hhonors points for USD25 and the purchase date is 31/07/2018 so think points are safe for another year.

Apparently expiry date in email was wrong. Should have been 01 September 2018. At least they have sent a warning email.

1,000 Hhonors purchased which should be good for another year.
