I (as will undoubtedly many others) have a raft of Krisflyer points expiring over the next 12 months. They had been earmarked for a trip last April but of course that was cancelled. It appears that Krisflyer has suspended transfers to Velocity since April 2020.

What does everyone think of the chances of Krisflyer reinstating Velocity points transfers soon?

I am unlikely to travel in the next 36 months. Is there anything else I can spend the points on apart from Krisshop?

Thanks in advance

My wife and I are BNE-CNS at least once a month, so have been able to use up a few points in J VA at 21k a pop. I'll still have a bunch left by December.
Is there an easy way to check expiry beyond the 6 months itemisation on the monthly SQ statement?

I tried going through my full statement, but that got a little complex with cancelled flights points coming back to the account.

Not without calling up AFAIK

Thanks, I've done a quick spreadsheet for the last 3 years to account for all points expiry. Even without an extension after December, I should be right with a 2022 OS trip plus a bunch of VA flights to burn the points.

I've not followed up on the transfer of SQ points to/from VA, but this snippet from VA's current T&C looks hopeful - though it may simply be a carry over from the old VA and incorrect:

5.2 Points transfers to Singapore Airlines

You can transfer Points from your Velocity account to, and you can receive a transfer of miles from your Singapore Airlines PPS Club / KrisFlyer membership account (Singapore Airlines account), subject to these rules:

  • you must first link your Velocity account and Singapore Airlines account and to do this your first name, surname and date of birth details in each account must match;
  • each Points transfer from your Velocity account must be a minimum of 5,000 Points;
  • you can’t reverse Points transfers once made (so ensure you’ve entered correct details first); and
  • a fee applies when transferring Points through the Membership Contact Centre.
We can vary the rate at which Points can be converted between your Velocity account and your Singapore Airlines account.

I don't think this has been changed since last year, before they "paused" transfers.

My first round of expiring points that were extended for 6 months appear to be coming up for expiration again in June 2021 (see the below chart from my account). However it appears unless they say otherwise that this time around they will be expiring.

Month Total miles expiring Miles previously extended Miles eligible for extension

Jun 2021 36500 32513 3987

Has anyone had their points extended for a second time?
