Expiry of KrisFlyer points

Perplexed by the comment that Krisflyer is one of the "stingiest" programmes around. I think it's a great programme as long as you can accumulate enough points in the 3 years and with my credit card usage that's not too hard.
Contrast a Melbourne - Copenhagen economy ticket with QF costing 148,000 points vs. 82,500 with SQ. And I've also found availability to never be a problem.

I too am always continually perplexed by the negativity towards KF.

I am MEL based - fly to China 8 to 10 times / yesr - USA 2 / yesr - I ALWAYS fly SQ if I can.

I am lucky to have a reasonable KF earn rate via AMEX and Westpac SQ Visa - 3 flights / day ex MEL is just perfect for me.

Award redemptions are reasonable easy to get even with only 1 MEL daily flight offering Saver awards.

I just cannot come at Qantas - I can never seem to find award availability when it suits me - VA want to steal my points if I make a redemption with them and for some unforseen reason I am unable to take the flight whereas if I cancel a confirmed redemption with KF it costs me 3,000pts of $30.

Long live SQ / KF IMHO.

This would be a short flight. :p:rolleyes::shock:

I joined SQ at one stage and let it lapse as the 3 year rule was hopeless for me. It would be fine if much of my travel was to SIN I guess.

You only alternative here would be to roll in some credit card points and then redeem something. All before March.

Yes, i probably didn't word that too well? Are there any available flights from Changi to Seletar? What i meant was say Silk Air flights from Singapore to Malaysia for example. I should have probably used the word "regional"

I have now consigned myself to the fact that these points will expire and i won't get any benefit from them. Lesson learnt.
