Hopefully this is the right place to post this.
I’ve recently been offered that if I apply for a Coles platinum Rewards card, will get explorer gold with VA for free.

Has anyone been targeted, not taken it and then retargeted? I’m QF Gold, likely to be Platinum if I do a status run but debating whether I should take this now or wait later (getting married in 3 months, so a bit tricky to do a status run) prior sept

Any thoughts/suggestions welcomed. Would be keen to hear from people who have status with both carriers

I applied for this and qualified last year.can you time this as well? from what I remember you can time your application,activation and meeting minimum spend etc.

I took up the offer to coincide with a trip to the USA in September last year. Applied on the last week of July (offered to apply in May or June I believe) and 6 weeks after meeting minimum spend I had my Explore Gold. I believe you have 3 months to meet minimum spend so you can always apply and then do your spending at a later date to push out when you earn Explore Gold.

Not sure I can make the timing work for this one; I currently have gold that will expire on 1 Sept as I won't have enough SCs.

With this offer, I have to apply by 30 June, and according to the t&cs make my first purchase within 30 days of card approval (no minimum spend!) to receive 20,000 bonus points within 3 weeks. Then I will be enrolled for explorer gold within 4 weeks of receiving the points. So in an ideal world I would apply 30 June, make first spend 30 July, receive bonus points mid-late august and get explorer gold mid-September, after my review date. Problem is that if the process is too efficient, I will get explorer gold before my current gold expires, which would be of no benefit.

Is there a way to push out the timeline?
