Extra Legroom Seats no longer free for WP on Dom

Plenty of legroom? They are still affecting by the recline of the person in front. The extra legroom seats in the 330's are not AFAIK.

That is probably the reason behind the charge on one but not the other.

I may be wrong but I think row 12 can't recline so maybe they should charge only for row 13 and offer row 14 for free :p

Also, what about the loss of legroom on 23A/K? Do those seats should be half price then?

(I'm joking, not trying to be argumentative :) )

Row 12 can recline just that they are locked for take off and landing. Sometimes they forget to unlock the seats.

My experience of new bulkhead seats of international A330 is that they are far from extra legroom. I'd be angry if I paid for the seat to then get jammed in to that bulkhead.
 
I am of the belief that this is nothing new for trans-con, although collection of the $$ seems to be a bit spotty. Might be due to the mixture allsorts configs they have, but they may be settling down with the reconfig program.

I sat there once after changing to an earlier flight and remember couldn't recline, probably FA didn't unlock the seat then.

Anyway, if I were WP I would be very upset by the slow yet steady decline in benefits. How long until all exit rows on all routes and all type of planes will cost extra... I have no doubt it's just a matter of time.
 
This perhaps could have explained how I was bumped from row 23 to row 25 the other day... however I wasn't travelling transcon.

I believe that Row 23 was originally being charged as an extra legroom seat no matter the configuration. IIRC this did stop after some negative feedback.

As the OP is talking a domestic route here, there are some of the 332's that do have extra room, but some also are like the 333 bulkhead as well.

I wasn't sure about the domestic configuration, hence making it clear I was talking about international. But aren't all the A330s due to refurbished to a similar configuration in the long run?

Currently the 332 has 6 different products (yes I am being picky).

Once the refurb is complete, essentially it will be a common configuration seat wise, the only difference being the IFE in Y
 
Beware what you ask for.....This thread started when I was told I had to pay for the exit row on the A330. I mentioned looking forward to the return of the 738's on the transcontinental.
Todays flight turned out to be such after a breakdown with a 330!
Now if they pulled the 787's from Jetsar and used them on that run.....

Correct. In my experience its the old Jetstar international 330s that have the bulkhead in 23, the original transcon 330s do not. I fly PER-BNE and vv fortnightly and since the refurbed Jetstar birds have gone to domestic I reckon I've had 1 original dom bird in probably 8 months. All the rest have had bulkheads. In fact before they started charging for Exit rows this was the best way to tell which bird you had - if 23 wasn't highlighted as exit then give it a miss and down to 44. When the ex J* planes started appearing you'd get about 1 in 5 that had the bulkhead, now pretty much exclusively bulkhead. I am always on the 0820 ex BNE and the 2250 ex PER.

And one less toilet in J on the 200s (which will be the domestic fleet, with a few exceptions).
