I just happened to come across the Etihad Guest redemption table for Brussels Airlines, and well, there looks to be some incredibly good value! I almost wonder if I'm missing something?

Brussels Airlines redemptions are only available for round-trips (one-way awards are not permitted). So all rates quoted are for return flights. Here are some examples:

  • BRU-CDG: 930 miles (Y) or 1,550 miles (J)
  • BRU-LHR: 1,236 miles (Y) or 2,060 miles (J)
  • BRU-RAK: 8,868 miles (Y) or 14,780 miles (J)
  • BRU-JFK: 21,972 miles (Y) or 36,620 miles (J)
  • BRU-NBO: 24,474 miles (Y) or 40,790 miles (J)

Basically that means that for 10,000 Flybuys points (normally worth $50, and transferrable to 4,000 EY miles) you could get almost 2 round-trips from Brussels to London in business class, or more than 4 round-trip economy flights from Brussels to Paris.

Not sure what the taxes would be like though...

Just thought I would share this. If anyone has redeemed miles for SN (Brussels Airlines) flights I'd be interested to know.

I tried to make some bookings in December last year and didn't have any luck with availability. You have to go through the call centre for these ones.

Yes, I redeemed EY miles on SN flights from BRU-DLA-BRU in J. Took a few days, and EY had to request SN to release the awards (showing up on UA website), but ticketed in a matter of minutes once SN complied.

Taxes was 180AUD return.

I see that the Brussels Airlines rates have recently gone up, and are now only for one-way flights. But the value is still pretty good.
