Reposted from FT: F Class Lounge Menu - Page 2 - FlyerTalk Forums

I was in the MEL First Class Lounge twice last month - two Fridays, one week apart. Between visits the menu had been updated. One major change is the virtual elimination of the appetiser menu. There is now an "Antipasto Plate" option and a few of the main menu selections. Things like deep fried cheese are gone.

I took some images of the "All Day" menu and the Bubbly part of the wine list. I have now transcribed it using some trusty OCR functionality and post it here:

CHAMPAGNE

Devaux Blanc De Noirs- from the Bar Sur Seine appellation of the Champagne Valley in
France. Initially round and fruity, the freshness and liveliness of this dry champagne develop
to give a unique and sensual wine- a signature of the French Boutique Winery.

By Moet & Chandon

Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial, an elegant harmonious wine with a clean smooth fruit driven
bouquet. With a hint of cashew nut and smooth nectarine flavours, it is delicate and well
balanced.

Verve Cliquot Ponsardin, a well loved wine for its crisp full flavours. Its complex nose of
apple, citrus and caramel is followed by full flavours of pure elegance, crispness and a
slightly Spicy finish.

I had some of the Devaux and became rather fond of it, although I am not normally a drinker

Although they removed the appetiser section, it appeared that quite a few of the dishes higher up the menu are basically appetisers, such as salt and pepper calamari and duck parfait.

I quite like the squid.
There next Thursday (MEL) so will give it another go..

What happened to the omelette? I've been twice - once in morning, once in afternoon and had it each time.:(

I have only posted the "all Day" (read non Breakfast menu)

Don't look for egg dishes ... ;)

Ok, but how come it was on the menu at 4:30pm:rolleyes:

Because due to the Egginerring strikes, certain chickens only laid eggs at union approved times. That is now resolved, and they can only offer omelettes in the early hours of the morning - rather than delaying some omelettes until later in the afternoon.
:D

:D
Perhaps some passengers waiting for early morning departures will still be waiting in the lounge at 4:30pm and wanting to prolong their breakfast experience in line with the rescheduled departure time

Aah! I get it now - eggs to rule:D

Could someone please post the lunch menu from the SYD F lounge?

Hoping to check in 3 hours before my flight to enjoy the most the F lounge has to offer.

Any tips on what to look out for on the menu in terms of food, drink and what to do would be appreciated...

The All Day menu is the lunch/dinner menu. There is a breakfast menu as well, which finishes either 11am or 11:30 (can't remember, but believe it's 11am). I believe there is another 'snack' menu you can find around the lounge which are basically appetisers/ small mains.

Are the wines in the F lounge similar to the sort of quality in F on QF flights?

ie Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay etc.

Is there a wine list in the F lounge? Or do you just order at the bar?

The menu on Flyertalk lists Johnnie Walker Blue Label. Is this a typo???
Not that I am aware of; note that Johnnie Walker Blue Label will be served to you on request - there is no self service for spirits, liqueurs, some wines and bubbly ...

Hmm, I missed that one when I was in the MEL FLounge. And they certainly didn't offer it when I asked what scotches they had available. Perhaps there is an annotation on my FF profile warning them to hide the good stuff when NM is in the lounge .

Would you be surprised if there was such an annotation :?:

The Deveaux is an exquisite champagne :D Tried in the F lounge last week on my way to HKG with mrssimongr (who thought the lounge was amazing and the spa even better).

The menu looks identical to the SYD menu - mrssimongr had the duck parpadelle and thought that was also amazing :D

She will be facing some disappointment today as we will be at the JFK F lounge... not much of a comparison really ;)
