0 is pretty crummy I will agree. But there isn't really much to lose since you can unlike immediately anyway. I don't think something like this will decrease customer loyalty. I doubt someone would avoid flying AA because they missed out on some free points. They seem to send out bonus point promos all the time. I ignore most of them.

there lucky there isn't an Unlike button coz if i came to the page, did the Like and all and then got 0 i personally would be seriously tempted to hit it.. Especially when the little blurb under the announcement of the page is:

"Click the link to begin your Mystery Miles journey and earn 100 to 100,000 AAdvantage miles!"

Don't see anything there about 0 miles... anyway, no it wouldn't stop me flying them, but as a promotion its an ill-thought out FAIL in my books when it would have been so easy to just have a minimum limit of 100... some marketing people are dumb...

You can click the Unlike button.. It should be next to where the story appears on your Facebook page. Perhaps the zero points thing is a glitch?

On their FB page, the most recent comment is that they have given away 14 100K bonuses at the moment...plus thousands of between 100 and 100K.

Time to sign up and see what I get.

As soon as I work out how to unlike them I will be doing so.

Lots of frequent facebook users around here... :p

To Unlike - go to your Facebook page, view your wall, you should see a story that says "StevePER likes AAdvantage." To the right hand side of this hover your mouse and an X will appear. Click on the X and a box will appear with the options - Remove post, Remove post and Unlike (choose this).

NB, if you haven't already signed up to AAdvantage, use the promotion code "HIS10" to get a free 1,000 points. See this thread on flyertalk. Should be good until March 2011.

futaris, thanks for the heads up. Hadn't signed up mini #2 yet...

I have gone and lodged for the FB promo on the 6 accounts I look after. I got 1K points, my wife 100, my parents 200 and 300 respectively and family friends 300 each.

Now let's see if they post and stay.

I am always worried about the use of AAdvantage when you book flights but want to credit to Qantas Airways.

Maybe there is a way around it, any suggestions as I couldn't online check in for my AA flights in November.

^^ Just book your AA flights without logging in to your AAdvantage account. I haven't had a problem with AA flights crediting to Qantas this way so long as you input your Qantas info in your booking.

100 miles. Keeps the account alive a few more months

How is it that I can work on a 1,000,000 lines of code software project but can't work this stuff out? Still can't find it, and all the AAdvantage stuff that was on my facebook page yesterday has disappeared today. Maybe I'll just cancel my facebook account, that will fix it.
