Family kicked off Jetstar flight

With Jetstar? That could be a very expensive exercise.
Then don't fly Jetstar/be prepared to not get what you didn't organise or pay for?

Personally I've been asked to move on an international flight along with a random person next to me and swapped with an old couple who wanted to sit near their grandchildren. Was asked post takeoff (MAS). No issues there and was more than happy to move.

Obviously not knowing the full story, appears you have two sides on FB
1. those siding with JQ believing passengers should have listened to FAs - appear to be more informed/concerned about airline rules
2. those others sympathising for the children saying 'poor kids' and 'what a traumatic experience' - people who continually complain about JQ but still fly with them

The adelaidenow website is even more amusing. Someone commented that they're in business and the customer is always right... also someone else mentioned rulings on weight distribution and customer identification with someone replying to that saying they own a silver velocity membership and have never been asked their weight.

I just think of the majority of people who fly to Bali......... yep.

Easily solved. Pay for seat allocations when you book or take what you are given.
Listen to the instructions from the fight attendants and prepare for the fall out if you dont.
Flying is one of the few remaining domains where there will be consequences for your actions.

If Qantas messes around with pre selected seat allocations for a WP (as recently as 2 weeks ago) then why do people think this solves the issue for j*.

I've never been given a seat other than what I've requested. I think minimal changes occur on jetstar as their fleet is consistent so aircraft swaps don't have the same affect as some airlines.

So reserving a seat might not guarantee traveling together but it sure increases your chances.

In life you usually get what you pay for and not what you don't pay for.
