Hi all,

I'm normally a OW(orld) guy but a recent trip home has seen me set up VFF accounts for the family. While all the points and SC's are pooling fine, with a bit of follow up. It is not changing the eligible sector count. So simple question is, do pooled SC's count towards eligible sectors?thanks

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

No, you have to fly the eligible sectors yourself as they don't family pool.

Ah, thats a shame, I should still be able to make Gold on the next trip. thanks for the info.

No worries. If you get enough SC's you could always do a little status run, although I'm not sure what the cheap options on VA would be from the West Coast.

There's not really anything in the way of cheap options for status runs in WA - unlike our Eastern States counterparts, we don't have the option of doing quick and relatively cheap "hops" between cities to rack up those last few SCs! It's frustratingly expensive, especially when you only need 40SCs for example - one option used to be return flights to BQB (Busselton), you could get it over and done with in half a day (about a 3.5 hour wait in Busselton airport for the return flight to PER!) and reasonable SC earn for flexi fares, which weren't too ridiculously expensive. Alas, VA has now cancelled all flights to BQB, so there goes that status run.

Living in Perth, you really have to work out whether doing just a status run is worth it, or whether you should try to turn it into a short getaway, which I've done for a trip later this year to Sydney to get requalifying SCs for both hubby and I. Wasn't cheap, as I had to book flexis both ways as we need 40SCs each, so thought I might as well make the trip worthwhile!

Well I'm currently sitting on 560SC but only 1 eligible flight. I'm waiting for about 7 flights to credit so that should get me another eligible flight and VFF Silver. I should get silver in time for my next trip east which will then get the eligible flights that I need for gold. so it should work out. If I turn the next trip into a bit of a run then WP may even be within reach.
