My son is on QF93 which had to turn around for an ill elderly passenger. About to takeoff again now. He is sitting opposite Luke Darcy sitting in 12F

When it comes to famous people/celebrities I am pretty ignorant. I think we should make it mandatory that all the posts on here have a wiki link or similar so ignorant people like me don't have to google them. I have to google about 90% of the people mentioned on this thread. As an example of my ignorance yesterday lining up in the VA priority queue at OOL there was a chap in the line that had 2 people come up to him and asked for his autograph. (he seemed pleasant enough and had a nice chat with one lady - she was very excited) I had absolutely no idea who he was but I am guessing he was a sportsman. He had a Phoenix Suns basketball logo on his suitcase but he wasn't very tall and he had no hair. Anybody want to guess.... :)

That's a very good idea.

Small world.... that's him (never heard of him but he looked pretty fit). Good guess and yes it was the Gold Coast Suns and not the Phoenix Suns....I am more into basketball than aerial ping pong. Actually isn't there another Ablett that played Aussie rules quite a few years ago. I wonder if they are related.

His father Gary Ablett played AFL for Geelong.

Dad and son are both superstars of their era's.

A few years ago a colleague and I were in the US for a training course and transitted through LA. My friend had never been to LA so we stopped over for a night or 2 to sightsee.

It was a late flight and not very many people were on the plane. As we were walking out of the airport to find a taxi I noticed Robbie Williams just behind us with 3 or 4 of his entourage. He noticed me looking at him and knew that I knew who he was. I told my friend and we decided to ask for a photo. When we exited the airport we turned and he ran behind a car but he was kidding and came out and took a photo with us. Nice guy.

Saw Megan Gale in the Qantas club in Melbourne last year. Gorgeous. People couldn't help staring at her.

Have seen numerous footy players and their coaches flying around the country to AFL games as well.

Pretty sure former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Mir) was seated in front of me in 1F for my BNE-SYD flight this morning. Presumably doing some holidaying before he fights Mark Hunt next month. Seemed very friendly with the guy sat next to him and the FAs but didn't stop chatting all the way through the safety demo. Not sure there would be too many FAs that would tell a 265 pound guy known for snapping people's arms to keep it quiet though.
