Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

John Howard (the former PM, not the actor) was in 1A on QF541 BNE-SYD this afternoon.

I'm normally back in whY, but I'd had a coughpy week, so I'd taken an on departure upgrade and was in 1E.

I was actually supposed to be on QF539, but it was badly delayed - it looks like it was delayed from 15:45 to 17:06! ..... so I moved to the normally later QF541 which left at 16:20, only 5mins late :) Glad I did, I would have missed the last SYD-WGA flight of the day if I'd stuck with QF539.

Have spotted both Bob Hawke and John Howard in the last few months.

AFL Footballer Matthew Lloyd in the MEL J Lounge this morning. Poor guy had some punter yammering in his ear about footy.

Saw Mal, Trippin_the_rift, Taezar, Samh004, awilcockson & anat0l at BNE domestic terminal prior to their BNE/SYD flight. Every time I blinked another AFFer would appear out of the woodwork.

It makes me wonder what the record is for the number of AFFers/FTers on a flight at any one time. For Ozfest there were 8 of us on QF824 BNE/DRW on 24 May - Straitman x 2, Fifa x 2, GemGem, BobW (FT), myself + SO. :?:

There were around 15 or 16 FTers on QFwhatever SYD-BNE-??? :) (it was a dom leg of an international flight)...and I think all of us were paged, because we had elected to stay in the F lounge to watch the then new SQ A380 take off. I did leave the lounge a little ahead of the rest.

This was en-route to the FT Qantas Board AGM in Feb 2007 or 2008.

I think FT has a bigger number for some other DO, but don't recall which.

Can't remember if l posted this already, I was next to Jeff Kennett + his wife a few months ago, SYD-MEL, J. He's put on a little weight. Nice guy though, easy to talk to....

Over the last year or so I have seen a few. Looking back, a lot of comedians in a short time. The "hit rate" is also a lot higher during midday travel rather then am or pm rush.

SYD dom J - Ricky Ponting, Mikey Robbins, Karl Barron, Angela Bishop,

MEL dom J - Fifi Box, Jimmy Barnes and family (3 generations), Boony, Will Anderson/Adam Hills (both, but not at the same time - are they actually two people?)

Am I the only person who has absolutely no idea who the vast number of 'famous people' named in this thread are?

Add to the list:

Dave Hughes ('Hughsey')
The entire team from The Chaser's War on Everything
Miss Universe (can't remember her name now, but a couple of the guys that I was with knew exactly who she was haha)
Geoff Huegill
Stephen Curry (narrator of The Castle - 'Dale Kerrigan')
Ice Cube (rapper)
Pitbull
Akon
Brad McEwan (host of Sports Tonight)

All in BNE domestic :)

Fremantle Dockers just headed out of the MEL DJ Lounge for a flight to Perth ...

I was travelling on QF81 ADL/DRW a few years ago & was sitting next to model/media identitly Bessie Bardot who was travelling on to Dili to entertain the troops.

She was eating a Gluten free meal & I was eating everything else on offer plus those yummy tubs of gourmet ice cream. :p

Well by the end of the flight she'd ditched the gluten free stuff for the gourmet icecream!

Must've been one of those cases of "I'll have what she's having"! ;)

Tony Bennett LHR-CDG BA0308 on July 9th (any gen y or x may have trouble with this one):)
Roger Moore (not looking well), Forest Whitaker at NCE (cote d'azure) Lounge July 11th
