Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

I am assuming the West Indies fast bowler from the 80's? If so, given his height I would want to be in Business class too!
He only looked like a couple of inches taller than me. ;)

Looks like a lovely bloke too. No room for his carry-on and let the FA's sort it for him. There was overhead space around row 7-8 and he didn't mind but they took it and stowed it up front.

Had a driver waiting for him. Driver looked much shorter than me. About 5'2" compared to Joel's 6'8".

Am not really into celebrity-spotting, but I am interested in twists of fate and co-incidences etc. A few days ago while sitting in BNE airport waiting to board the first leg of a long series of RTW flights, the song "Sailing" by Rod Stewart popped into my head - I love that song but hadn't thought of it for many years.

Any way, day before yesterday I got to my LHR-MIA leg, flying BA, and this older sort of bloke sat across the aisle from me. It was him!!

He was the first person I saw in concert - Memorial Drive about 1973 - I thought he was wonderful - still do really

Not sure where to post this as there is no name, but this thread seems to be the best fit.

I spent the last week travelling with (amongst others) a retired NASA test pilot. We had some fascinating conversations. When asked if he flew fixed wing or rotary, he said 'both'. And when asked what helicopters he had flown the reply was 'most of them'. A very modest gentleman. He is not a public figure so I won't share his name online, but I am sure some would have heard of him.

George Negus on my QF flight up to Coffs Harbour from Sydney. Also on board was Malcolm Wilson, most on here wouldn't know who he is, but in my favourite sport he is very well known.

2 weeks back I saw Merv Hughes at the same departure gate as me waiting for a QF flight MEL-ADL. He was on the phone the whole time. Spotted his mo from a mile away.

He probably has the phone up to his ear whenever out, so he doesnt have to talk to fans :)

Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, 2 kids and a nanny just flew with me on the delayed QF7 from Syd to DFW. Didn’t see them at the airport or in the F lounge but they did have to queue at US immigration with the plebs. They all seemed happy and relaxed, apart from the nanny

Didn't actually see her but was in the MEL J lounge over xmas when they paged "Magda Szubanski travelling to Adelaide" to come to the service desk. I would have thought they would have just walked through and found her rather than paging.

In LAS just over a week ago they were paging a Monica Lewinsky for a Delta Flight.

Not sure how big she is in the frequent flyer community ?

Steve Larkham, Naomi Watts, Caroline Wozniaki, Juan Martin Del Potro, Tom Waterhouse in various lounges this past week. Plus others who looked vaguely familiar but can’t place!
