Fares to USA Sep 2013 - when to book?

At that time of year you're unlikely to get a special that will make a huge difference. I'd go ahead and purchase now.

Some people here will rubbish the idea but check United's fares, they are always the best. You can also get AA discount fares on QF metal which sometimes are a smart move.

Have you looked at buying some AA miles using their current promo, which allows you to buy 60000 for $1800 USD odd, and you get a 50% bonus. You could then top up another 10000 in the new year and book Business one way to New York and economy the other for 100000 points + $139 taxes.
