I was thinking something around the rocks maybe. But I'm not really a local either. I'll try to find the place they had the last Sydney drinks at..... :?:

Otherwise, I always enjoy the view at the Opera bar.

Ok the place was the Glenmore Hotel, the rocks. Rooftop bar. I'll do another thread if there are no major objections in the next little while.

Looks like we might need someone to co-ordinate drinks/dinner in ADL as well. Any takers?

Not I unfortunately. Straight home to family for me. Well maybe a quick lounge visit if someone twists my arm... ;)

Can Plats visit the lounge on arrival mh?

Yes they have arrivals access but in Adelaide you will have to go back through security.

Ah. I'm old enough to remember Ansett Golden Wing Club when we would go there on a Saturday night for nibbles and drinks and watch planes!

So maybe that's a plan. I'm a member but guessing that won't get me in.

WPs can guest 2 into a QP or J lounge. It is only the F lounge the limit is 1.

Post flight drinks is a great idea, particularly if some are not around for dinner.

Looking to see how I can participate in this, possibly in china the following week, but perhaps I can jump on the 82 bird one more time ;), Anyone on QF81 staying here in ADL that night...? Perhaps I can do a mini-meet with some of you...?

Now to look at my QF82 options...

I think QF82 is available on the Friday.

It would good to finally meet. I think there will be a few looking for dinner on Sat pm.

Just looking for a local to provide some advice...

I won't be able to make dinner that night but if you are staying in the CBD then there are a few nice restaurants. Indian - cant go past Jasmine in Hindmarsh Square. Auge in Grote Street. Maybe others can make suggestions?

Actually Jasmine is somewhere I have never made it to but is very much on my list.

JohnK, last time I looked, 1B (or maybe it's called 1C, not sure) bulkhead seat was free. If you can put up with me sobbing.
Thanks for the very kind offer but I cannot make a commitment for this weekend just yet.

I already had flights booked to ADL for the weekend until I realised I made a mistake with dates and luckily Qantas let me cancel the flights 2 weeks later without charge.

but they are coming to you...or am I still mixing this all up?

Ha ha, best I can come up with is a mini status run to SYD and back lol, just deciding on QF81 or QF82... Really depends if I can get some lounge access in SYD , that being the case, QF 81 it is...

Edit: F Lounge access that is he he , since J lounge will be a given

Are you joining us  , nothing like a mini status run in J lol

I am arriving back from OS on the Sunday. I got the flights the wrong way round and initially thought I would be able to join the Sydney flight back to Adelaide, but when I got the dates right in my head I realised I wasn't able to do it :(
