Myself and the wife are flying SQ J into SGN at approximately 6pm and wanted to know peoples experience on if

  1. Do J passengers get any fast track upon arrive at SGN airport?
  2. Are the fast track services any good / can you recommend any?
  3. We have a Domestic J flight with VN but need to collect baggage and re-check in to SQ J to SIN, is fast track recommended on departure? (Our domestic flight arrives at 1545 and SQ flight leaves at 1940 (almost 4 hours)

We flew VN J into HAN and there was a separate immigration booth for business class passengers and ‘skyboss’ from VietJet. It saved a heap of time.

That was the main pinch point, not sure you’d need priority for anything else.

We departed out of SGN on VN but in economy. The queues were a lot longer, as you might expect. But they moved fairly quickly. There was a separate line for business class which was much faster.

I don’t think there’s a need to spend $$ on any sort of fast track services. It’s all pretty straight forward and you’ll have your visa already. Not much else they can do for you.

Thanks, I wasn't sure as the turn around was quiet tight and we wanted to make sure the process was a seamless as possible.

Keen to know if anyone has arrived into SGN and their experience going through immigration?

Its the connection from Phu Quoc on VN (domestic J) to re-check into the SQ flight with the 4 hour turn around

Arriving domestic there'll be no immigration, just get your bags... But id ask VN if they can check them through.

We arrived SGN maybe 2.5 hours before our international flight in economy class. We probably had about an hour and a half of spare time.

They have an inter line agreement. Whether or not they are prepared to through check bags on separate tickets is something you can ask at the airport. When you check in for your vietnam airlines flight you should mention at the earliest opportunity that you have an onward flight to singapore. See what they say.

Priority services isn’t going to get your bags out any quicker that you’ll get anyway with business class. The domestic and international terminals are linked by a 500m covered walkway.

SQ’s checkin at SGN closes 50 mins prior to flight departure.

Departing Frankfurt I asked VN if they would through check our bags on a separate ticket to SQ. I was flying to Singapore on VN then over to SQ. They, in a very polite and friendly manner, told me 'no way José'.

Disappointing :(

Still worth asking, maybe local VN staff will be more accommodating :)

At least if the OP collects bags they can be more certain they have made the SQ flight.

It was even Christmas Day when I asked the question!

Funnily enough, Frankfurt Airport seems to get a lot of stick about rude staff etc but on that trip everyone we ran across was very pleasant - including security staff.
