Favourite airline on-board freebie?

Not sure if it's as much of a thing these days, but do people still keep some of the freebies that airlines offer on board?

I used to love the playing cards.

I do... I have quite a few JAL ones, like model planes, luggage tags, post cards, pens, notepads, that I've picked up over the last few years.

Interested to hear what other airlines still offer things like that, I don't see them much anymore.

I’m not sure if this meets your criteria as it’s only for long-haul J passengers, but I love the little houses (filled with gin, no less) they give out on KLM.

Have several from CAAC, (china airlines always crash), including a small compass, also a can/bottle opener, I will have to find them.

Mrscove was quite chuffed that the Singapore flight attendant gave her a little bear for our 5 month old grand daughter on our flight to London.

For a brief period JAL was adding a phone stand and a USB-A to Lightning & USB-C cable in their premium cabin amenity kits



I don't particularly care for the cable, but the phone stand is nice and I haven't actually been able to find one as compact since (credit card sized, folds very thin, two angles)

I've heard their in-flight service is somewhat ... aggressive!

Not my favourite, but I recollect China Eastern handing out a single blue ball point pen of very dubious quality on a domestic flight (that was binned after one use).

ANA gave out blue branded shopping bags (or in our case, dirty laundry bags) which were incredibly strong and useful - looking forward to getting another few when we go to London at Christmas...

I use the EK F ones for that, I didn't knew ANA had them too... will have to ask for one next time.

We got a couple of these on our recent J flights. Both very useful.

Decent movie plot idea: Drug running FA's hand out tins of "biscuits" to unsuspecting passengers just prior to customs, then track them down landside to retrieve the contraband. There's a number of ways that could happen, so it could be a sexy romp, hilarious cross-continent misadventure, or violent thriller.

The thought did cross my mind! Had it been a flight from Colombia, I would have politely declined….
