Yup indeed, hadn't seen that one yet, also can't find an email to advise of a time change but we are now on QF454 which is leaving at 1730, I can see your ETD is 1745 so guest spot definitely available!
Apologies ozmille, thought time would be tight so thought better of possibly inconveniencing you. In the end time was close, got to the airport just as boarding was starting!

SYD FL subject to 'traveling together' provision on JQ1

Re: Free entry to the QANTAS First Lounge in Sydney

Where does JQ1 depart from? (Never had the opportunity? to fly JQ)

JQ1 departs from the SYD INT and arrives in MEL INT. It's a tag leg for the MEL-HNL flight.
It's the only time I'd fly JQ domestically :)

28FEB SYD-MEL QF411 (07:30am Departure) in the SYD QP from about 06:45am - 1 Guest spot available.
add the following flights as well:
27FEB SYD-AVV JQ603 (07:05 Departure) in the SYD QP from about 06:30am - 1 Guest spot available
27FEB AVV-SYD JQ616 (15:45 Departure) in the tin shed from about 15:15pm

Short notice trip so anyone flying SQ on these dates? Only VA Silver so no lounge access.
18 FEB 2013 SQ446 1215 SYD - SIN
22 FEB 2013 SQ241 0705 SIN - SYD

I hate doing these, but my friend and I have the misfortune of flying on JQ1 this Tue 19 Feb from MEL int at 1600. Anyone able to guest us? I'm Plat on VA, and no-one to QF.

You will be my hero.

You have my undying awe that you would even contemplate a JQ flight (unless you're in *Class or doing a Flounge run - both of which you're clearly not doing). :o

Take comfort that you're also a nobody to JQ.

Sometimes price is just too great a pulling power for some. I know I'd fly JQ if it's only 50-60% the cost of a QF flight, in fact I'm doing that in two weeks. CNS-SYD-CNS for $248 compared to $438 on QF, no-brainer really, would've been only $198 if I didn't pay for the starter package. Must admit I didn't pay for luggage but I am only travelling HLO.

I'll be in the VA Sydney lounge tomorrow 15 Feb from 1600-1800, can guest one.

At least with JQ you still have lounge access and pay a little more to receive SCs and QFF points.

How much of saving would be required for people to forego SCs, FFp points, lounge access and inconvenience of poor schedules? I keep thinking about taking some Tiger flights BNE-SYD but there are 2-3 flights a day and if something goes wrong I am stuffed. And if I pay for luggage then the $99 QF one way looks a bargain over any Tiger airfare.
