I hate being right in these circumstances... :( [except it was Anderson]
81.3
Anderson to Hilfenhaus, OUT, 137.3 kph, the leader of the attack strikes again! Good delivery too. Full and swinging away, finding the edge of a flat-footed defence for Prior to collect
BW Hilfenhaus c †Prior b Anderson 7 (11b 1x4 0x6) SR: 63.63

And we finally succumb:

84.4
Tremlett to Beer, OUT, that's it! That's the moment! England have ended 24 years of pain in Australia with a comprehensive 3-1 victory! Tremlett is the man to finish it off, hammering it down on a length, finding an inside edge that cannoned onto the stumps to cue wild celebrations!
MA Beer b Tremlett 2 (9b 0x4 0x6) SR: 22.22

England win by an innings and 83 runs and win the series 3-1

Bye to the Ashes!

Great atmosphere sat with the Barmy army today - harsh critics if Mitchell especially!

And now the rebuilding starts... get rid of Hilditch!

Favorite post match comment - Alistair cook being asked what the main contribution was to his improved batting averages - the response from the Barmy army "mitchell johnsons bowling" :)

There was a fair bit of noise but I couldn’t make out what was being said through the TV, good to know! ;)

A couple of other good ones...

"He bowls to the left, he bowls to the right but Mitchel Johnson's bowling is shyte"

And about Michael Clarke

"you're getting sacked in the morning"

"you're just a cough ricky ponting"

It was a little no-holds barred :)

I'm currently in the UK and although I don't follow cricket closely, the Brits have been jumping for joy over this. It's been one of the lead stories on every news bulletin I've watched. I did hear a gem on UK morning TV today: 'At the SCG, Australia's premier sporting venue'. Ha. What about Lilac Hill? Okay, the G too.

Sad to see Australia lose again.

Damn!! I was hoping he'd bat for longer. Still, a nice Test average of 29 to start
Is Usman Kuwhaga a number 9 batsman?

Clarke (experienced and has looked in good form, the test where his back was an issue aside) - Captain
Hmmm....

Ponting (still a great batsman, unlucky a few times - leg side catches and the like, and it's not like other players have not dropped down the order as they get older - but I've never been keen on his captaincy)
Has to stay on as captain and guide any youngsters. It is the selectors that need to go.

M Hussey (I would have dropped him early in the series, but still doing enough)
Regardless of what he has done this series he did not belong there. He has been out of form for close to 2 years and should have been dropped a long time ago. This has been the biggest problem with Australian cricket in the last 5-10 years. We have kept (carried!) aging out-of form players in the team and not given the younger players a chance.

The signs were there and we ignored them.

Thanks Cricket Australia.

Thanks for overseeing the worst Ashes campaign in memory.

Thanks for the lack of planning and forethought.

Thanks for that Indian tour you agreed to which had our Test players preparing for Australia's bouncy, seaming tracks by playing on sub-continent roads while England embedded themselves Downunder.

Thanks for sticking with those dunderhead selectors who came up with some of the worst combinations since tofu was added to hamburgers.

Thanks for signing off on selections which were harder to understand than Liz Hurley's affection for Shane Warne.

While we're at it, can you please thank Hilditch and Co for destroying Nathan Hauritz's career by not picking him and ruining Phil Hughes' by picking him.

Thanks for persevering with Ben Hilfenhaus while his bowling average was ticking over quicker than the digits on a petrol bowser.

Thanks for waiting until the fifth Test to unveil Usman Khawaja.

Thanks for allowing Brad Hodge to slip into Test retirement despite scoring more regularly than Pete Doherty.

Thanks for not employing fielding coach Mike Young for the entire series when we've got a team of Edward Scissorhands.

Thanks for not asking batting coach Justin Langer the hard questions and querying why the Australian batting line-up would find it easier speaking Latin at press conferences than actually leaving a ball outside off stump.
<snip> (the rest is in the link)

Finally, thanks for throwing open the gates on the SCG on the fifth day so that every Pom in the southern hemisphere could sing about how ****e my national team is.

Thanks for nothing.
