Fiji airlines changing planes

Update on this.

Fiji are still advertising they fly the A350 on the San Francisco route which I personally think is dodgy. But apparently they don’t have approval for the Dallas flight yet so may have to revamp everything anyway.

Are you looking at seat maps? Typically, not all passengers will have been assigned seats.
I was thinking the same thing, but I wouldn’t expect an AFFer to rely on seat maps as an indication of actual bookings. Maybe has access to another source?

I was using seat maps and fake bookings but I’d forgot the basic airfares don’t include seat selection.

But still not many business bookings on the flights which I believe is indicative of the whole flight and is down to the fact the Dallas route isn’t actually approved yet. I’m guessing that if things don’t go to plan, they will reallocate the planes are fly people via LA.

Flying to the US in December we did our research (or so we thought) and selected a Fiji Airways flight SYD-NAN-SFO on an A350. We choose to fly a day early to get the A350 over the a330 which has an outdated business class.

When Fiji Airlines announced their new Dallas leg they reallocated the A350 to this route sadly leaving us on an a330. A tad frustrating.

my question, I have checked the Nadi to Dallas flights and they have sold about 11 tickets. Obviously there is some time but this is clearly not commercially viable. If their is no great change what is the chance Fiji will cancel the Dallas flight and reallocate the plane to the original leg.
Hey, so what ended up happening? I purposely waited to fly a specific day to get the new business class seats and i just got notification they changed the plane to the older business class seats, id change days, though could change again and i have family flying with me in coach and on lite un refundable fares, so annoying. I am going Syd - Vancouver via nadi

Fiji very much put it in the we don’t care basket, which is super frustrating as like you we made decisions around days to fly etc to get the plane we wanted.

As I said before I understand operational changes from a safety perspective but mine was a planning issue. I also didn’t like them advertising the 350 when they had removed it from the route. I thought that was bad business.

I’m surprised they have changed the 350 from Vancouver, I would have thought this a preferred route for the 350. Fiji need to increase their 350 fleet, the 330’s are okay but don’t really cut it for long haul flights.

It’s sad as we really enjoyed the service and every other aspect of the flight.

If you have been changed to the 330, make sure you get either front row or centre row, this way you have aisle access
