Maybe that was their cunning plan!

Save a lot on paying for FF lounge access if they’d gone their own way (or a non-US FF program).

Continue to be amused that so many people/bloggers think HA is an independent airline. Now 100% owned by AS and being (slowly) integrated into AS systems. Will be 1 fpp, 1 reservation system and 1 airline operating certificate. HA just a brand of AS, like QantasLink is a brand of Qantas.

In the past, oneworld had advertised new member joining dates on their website well ahead of the actual date.
This time, they just had a news post when FJ decided to become a full member, without any planned start date noted (just "within 12 months"), then made a post with "FJ is now a full member".

Oman Air is due to join the alliance soon. Executive Traveller is saying on 30 June, yet there doesn't appear to be a corresponding press release about Oman Air joining from oneworld since they first announced it in 2022.
