Fiji Airways Delays/Cancellations

On Friday 1 July 2016, FJ931 (1810 hours NAN - MEL) took off at 1910, about 40 minutes late, with arrival suggested as 50 down at 2250. Aircraft is B738 DQ-FJM that was featured in the previous delay, although FJ have one of the smaller fleets of international airlines operating to and from Oz.

On Saturday 13 August 2016, FJ914, the 0630 early start SYD - NAN departed at 0759. Arrival should be at 1328, 68 minutes behind time.

On Wednesday 19 October, FJ931, the late evening 2300 hours arrval is instead expected to pull in at the gate at 0125 hours on Thursday 20.

Yep, and it hurt with two small children after a 1600 airport arrival. 3am arrival home not ideal.

Apparently late aircraft inbound from AKL.

Pax were given FJ$20pp food and beverage vouchers to spend in the airport.

On the plus side, immigration and customs were a breeze and our bags came out as we reached the carousel so tarmac to door ~30mins (0130 landing --> onto kerbside by 2am and wlaked straight onto long term carpark bus where we got a "personal chauffeur service" to our car as we were the only pax aboard!).

Felt sorry for the lovely cabin crew who then had to work the flight back! Ouch.

docjames, sorry to hear as indeed it must have been difficult with small children who want to sleep at that hour.

With F$20 = A$12.83 generosity must know no bounds at FJ! How magnanimous of the airline. What would A$13 buy at an airport per person?

We had F$80 between the 4 of us (2A/2C) and spent ~ F$55 (without buying drinks as we were in the lounge).

The food options in the (newly renovated) Nadi are Burger King, Pizza, Gloria Jeans and assorted sandwiches etc.

F$20pp is reasonable at local pricing.

There was also a meal served straight after takeoff.

Monday 24 October has FJ911, the 0900 NAN - SYD not having been airborne until 1010; arrival of A332 DQ-FJV is likely at 1334 hours, 49 minutes behind schedule.

Sunday 30 October has FJ931, the 1810 hours from NAN to MEL having taken off at 1904. Arrival of B738 DQ-FJH is suggested as 2335 hours, 35 minutes tardy.

On Monday 31 October, FJ941 (0755 hours early morning from NAN to SYD, B738 DQ-FJM) took off at 0808 which is on time or even a tad early, but arrival is not expected until 1203 hours, 33 minutes behind time.

UPDATE: FJ940, the 1230 hours departure back to NAN just took off at 1328 so it will be delayed arriving in Fiji.

Friday 11 November may not be the best day to remember for passengers on FJ914, the 0630 SYD - NAN (B738 DQ-FJG) as takeoff was not until 0938 with arrival suggested as about 1600 instead of 1225.

In the other direction, FJ911 (0900 hours NAN - SYD) took off at a very punctual, slightly ahead of time 0909 but arrival of A332 DQ-FJU should be at 1212, 42 minutes late. It has not helped that the plane was in a holding position east of STYD for a few minutes.

On Saturday 3 December 2016, FJ916, the 1035 hours SYD - NAN took off much delayed at 1253 with B738 DQ-FJN. Arrival should be at approximately 1914 hours instead of mid afternoon at 1630.

The Wednesday 21 December FJ931 from NAN to MEL that is timetabled to arrive at 2150 hours mid evening should instead do so at 0030 hours on Thursday 22. This is expected to delay FJ930 from MEL back to NAN from its normal pushback at 2250 on Wednesday to 0130 hours on Thursday.

The 2250 hours MEL - NAN on Saturday 7 January 2017 took off at 2353. B738 DQ-FJN on this FJ930 should arrive on Sunday 8 at 0622, 37 minutes late.

Easter Monday 17 April 2017 sees A332 DQ-FJV on FJ911, the nicely timed 0900 NAN - SYD that took off at 0958 hours arriving at around 1228, 43 minutes late.

Sunday 28 May 2017 sees FJ911, the 0900 from NAN down to SYD not having become airborne until 1054 (A332 DQ-FJT.) Arrival is expected at 1321 hours, 96 minutes late.

On Thursday 20 July, FJ931, the 1810 hours NAN down to MEL that was in the sky abut 15 minutes late at 1841 should pull in at approximately 2250 hours (50 minutes tardy) with B738 DQ-FJH.

Wednesday 26 July sees FJ910, the 1255 hours SYD - NAN B738 DQ-FJN that was in the sky at 1405 suggested as arriving at 1933, 48 minutes tardy.

Friday 18 August 2017 sees the scheduled late night (2300 hours) arrival of FJ930 in MEL (ex NAN) delayed until about 0210 hours on Saturday 19.

Due to the 0520 hours Monday 25 September SYD radar failure, FJ914 (B738 DQ-FJH, the 0630 hours SYD - NAN) took off at 0727 so arrival in the island paradise should be at about 1258 early this afternoon, 38 late.
