Fiji SC run price increase

I missed this - how do we book this? It still seems like fantastic value.

BNE-MEL = 60 SC
MEL-NAN = 100 SC + 100 SC Bonus

NAN-SYD = 80 SC + 80 SC Bonus
SYD-MEL = 40 SC
MEL-BNE = 60 SC

= 520 SC's @ $2.46

HA! No wonder that had to increase the price! I have forgotten about the SC Bonus. Is there a page on Qantas with the details of the bonus offer?

Last week Friday this cost $A1396.10 to Fiji (incl CC fees) for two people and the return cost $A1059.40 ($FJ1855.60).

So you get 200 SCs for flying business class to NAN (return). The cheapest bus class fare I can see is $1259 on Air Pacific. That's about $6 per SC.

Am I missing something here? I don't think there are any business class seats for under $500.

You can route via cities on the East Coast for the same price, so if you add some Domestic J flights the total SC increases and the $ per SC decreases. Either way, still good value, just waiting for my BPAYment to go through and I’ll start playing with my flights.

Total cost to me was ~$1190. Booked on Saturday as 2 bookings. I’d net 360SC ordinarily, but 520SC with the double SC bonus.

So, does this mean that once you have paid for the flights, you can change the dates of the sectors? ie. NAN-SYD-MEL (overnight) then the next day fly to BNE.

My preference would be to overnight in MEL so the next day I can fly to BNE then to CBR. (I like the MEL airport hotel options better than BNE)

Sure can. On some of my runs I have a 2 month break between my BNE-MEL and my MEL-NAN, and similarly between my SYD-MEL and my MEL-BNE.

Yes, one stopover is allowed if there are seats available in the fare class.

Thanks for your quick replies, melbourne rebel & markis10.

I have just booked and BNE-MEL-NAN is $103 dearer than yesterday but the return booked via the Fiji site is the same price as last week.

After OzFest #8 I will be Platinum - woohoo!

The J lounge in DRW is not the best :D:D:D

Slightly O/T but it was pretty sad the last time I was there the only quiet spot I could find to use my laptop was leaving the QP and using the workarea with powerpoints over near the international departure gate!
