I'm looking at some routing options with respect to SC earning.

I am trying to find out haw many miles between MIA and ORD.

The Great Circle Mapper advises that it 1197 miles.

However, the QF web site won't tell me what the earnings are on this sector.

If I use the award calculator, it tells me is is 1,204 miles so 18,000 points are required for a WHY award.

Has anyone flown this segment on AA and, if so, can they advise how many points/miles/SC's were credited.

FWIW, 1200 miles is a key distance in the QFF tables.

according to AA, who operate the route, they will credit 1197 miles to an AAdvantage account for the journey. So I would expect they will be willing to pay 1197 to a QF FF account for the same journey.

I would save a screenshot of the award tool calculation, and if QFF credits for less then 1200 miles make a protest to get the missing SCs on the basis they were happy to charge based on more than 1200 miles.

NM - I don't think that logic works. I have been credited different base mileage (before any minimums, multiples etc) on one FFP than the same flight on the FFP of the airline operating the flight.
