Finnair, Does NOT follow the benefits for Qantas FF, Mistake or scamming FF of money for carrying luggage's?
I am a life gold member with Qantas FF, travelling all over the place without any problem to carry 2 luggage at NO cost with ALL One world members until I travelled in Finnair.
I purchased 2 Premium Economy tickets from Bangkok to London via Helsinki the ticket disclosed that the leg between Helsinki and London and back did not have Premium Economy, therefore it was going to be "lite" economy ??
All went quite well from Bangkok to Helsinki and then Helsinki to London, there was NO charge for any of our 2 luggage, that of course as a gold member I am entitle to that benefit however the leg back from London to Bangkok we were refused to have the same 2 luggage, that I was entitle to, at NO cost, after about 30 minute of argument I had enough of it all and finished paying 101.60 Pounds for the "extra" luggage.
I think this is incorrect and poor treatment of my FF status, beside the charged was from London to Bangkok NOT considering that we were in fact entitle to free luggage in the Helsinki to Bangkok leg, also considering that I was never charge for ANY extra luggage in the way over to London.
I have contacted Finnair to request a refund and even damages for making me waste my time and the stress during the checking time in London early morning, their answer was simple, you are not entitle to 2 luggage, only 1 free I once again responded still waiting to get an answer from Finnair.
I believe that this is a usual occurrence and many FF may be may suffered the same treatment by Finnair on Checking I also think that this is just simply a money grab or scam however, in my case, it is NOT the amount of money but the principal therefore I believe my request to Finnair is correct. Comments please I am interested in seen if this is a normal issue to other FFs. thank you

If the ticket from between London and Helsinki was an Economy Light fare then it included NO checked allowance, and uses the piece system. As a OneWorld Sapphire you are entitled to one extra checked piece, so one piece only (not two).

On the way out, you will have been checked through with the allowance for the first sector (presumably a PE Classic) with one piece, plus your extra piece. In effect, you got lucky as the didn't reference the allowance for the final leg and charge you.

On the way back, they correctly charged you for an extra piece. It may not be possible for them to only charge for the first sector, but you could have avoided the extra charges if you got the bags short checked to Helsinki, collected them and then rechecked. Of course, this would require clearing customs, rechecking etc, and you may not have the connection time to do so.

With a mixed class itinerary on the one airline, I don't think Most Significant carrier baggage policy will come into play, as it is clearly Finnair all the way.

In short, you need to check your ticketed baggage allowance and not just assume.
