I was at MEL International on Sat 2nd June and F checkin was as described by NM.

There were no signs indicating that OWE could use the F checkin (or anywhere else for that matter) and I had no reason to ask as I was simply walking past.
When I checked in I didn't see the new F check-in, and as the J check-in had virtually no queue I used that. The agent there told me I, as a OWE, could have used the F check-in, so it appears that has not changed :) .

Just got off the phone from the Qantas First host, re my First flight tomorrow.

She offered to meet me at the bus on the terminal transfer and escort me through C & I, but I declined.
She advised I can use the express lane on the far right hand side of the C & I desks.
I have also booked in an hour at the spa.

All in all a nice way to go so far.

Sounds great :) I am hoping to switch to a QF flight on Saturday and will be requesting an F upgrade - might be nice to express through C+I :)

Not sure on the spa treatments though - not much of a massage fan ...

I am not too worried about the massage, but a facial would be just nice...:p

As a good QLD boy (and no Brad Pitt) , I am not usually up for this kinda thing, but I will give it a go.

Trip report to start about 3:30pm tomorrow !

Cheers
Iain

Actually, Mr Capper was a Victorian lad, and only came to QLD to play for the then Brisbane Bears......

Us purebread Qlders' are thin on the ground these days due the stampede over the border by the southerners over the last 15 years or so...
I did go to a Brisbane Lions game recently and had the chance to sit in a corporate box. I realised that out of the 12 people there, I was the only one born in Qld....
The rest were blow ins....:p

I can assure all readers that I have never had the opportunity, nor the desire to wear a tight pair of shorts and a sleeveless shirt.
My rugby mates would never have stopped laughing.

Hmm, "thin" is not a word I have associated with since I stopped playing soccer when I turned 40  . But I am born and bred in Brissy. Just lived in Melbourne for 5.5 years and decided that after 15 winters it was time to return home for thawing out.

Do not underestimate the advantage of this. I spent 30 minutes in an “e lane” last week, with the occasional passenger being escorted past me and the rest of the queue, directly to the immigration officer. YMMV

I think they are called Mexican Bandits, they cross the border and steal your women and your jobs:p

From memory (not that I have watched much rugby) isn't the clothing you describe standard kit for rugby players:cool:

On my recent honeymoon done4 my wife and I upgraded for our first int sector to SFO from SYD. I surprised my wife and she didnt know that we were going first until I took her to the first check in in Sydney. Great service at check in and escorted through immigration and security up to the new F lounge. The check in agent took us into the lounge, checked on any special requests and took my wife to the day spa. Great lounge and service. Lots of bubbly in the lounge and very good waiter service.
The Sydney F check in is actually a walled off area with lounges to wait in whilst they check you and your bags in. Overall a great experience for our first and most likely last first class trip. Mrs Batesy is now plat so we will be able to use the lounge next time we do int through Syd. No 1st lounge in Perth!!!
