First lounge hypothetical

Say you’re departing the international terminal on a non partner/non OW airline and want to access the 1st lounge as a WP. Would they have to let you in if you booked the cheapest domestic flight (or classic award) for the same day and enter with that ticket?

Surely someone here has tried it. Currently this is about as hypothetical as me bringing my own coughtail shaker to the lounge and ordering whatever coughtail I want deconstructed with a glass of ice on the side.

I think it would have to be a cheap ticket on a domestic flight that was leaving from the international terminal, say a Jetstar tag flight.

I wonder if flags would be raised with Border Force as you went through immigration as they should detect that you are booked onto two flights.

Your first problem is getting through the e gates with flights to two different destinations.
Not something I’d be willing to risk for a very average S&P squid and a chance of a spa appointment whilst sipping a $25 wine.

Even supposing that’s successful, failing to board or cancelling the flight once inside the lounge is going to be on your QFF account.
If any of this breaks the T&Cs then they will cancel your account and you forfeit your points.

EDIT: Actually scratch that. It’s not the egates as you have an orange sticker.
You have to see a border force desk who will know that you have two different flights.
Very awkward at best case scenario.

No orange sticker. Surely border force wouldn’t care if you had an air Asia ticket to Malaysia and a cheap QF Sydney Melbourne domestic flight ( from the domestic terminal)booked in the same day. The real question is once you had the QF ticket even though it’s doemstic, once your in the international terminal, o would assume your technically eligible for entry. Website just says qantas flight number.

You need to have a BP for a flight leaving that terminal.
They will not allow you to enter the lounge with a Domestic BP as it’s patently obvious that to be airside International you must have a departing BP from that terminal.

Throwaway 3K ticket for SIN F lounge access

I am looking to fly SIN-SYD in a few weeks, unsurprisingly there are no oneworld/JQ awards and cash seats are quite expensive. I'm now looking at LCCs such as Scoot, and wondering if anyone has experience booking a cheap 3K ticket (e.g. SIN-KUL) purely for SIN F lounge access, then no-showing...

They will not allow you to enter the lounge with a Domestic BP as it’s patently obvious that to be airside International you must have a departing BP from that terminal.

I know it seems similar but my scenario is subtly different to this. Basically I’m being pedantic around the QF lounge rules not actually specifying a terminal or international flight.

seeing as you can access the QF dom bus lounge on a Jetstar dom ticket but they are different terminals. It’s still Sydney

I feel like you'd be at the mercy of the lounge staff at best and they can just deny you if you try to get technical because "they can".

Also is the Syd F lounge worth even the cheapest qualifying domestic lounge? Unless you catch a JQ sale, it'd be at least $80 or more for a flight right?

The financial value wasn’t the point of the question. It’s more about the lounge acces rules. Thats why it’s a hypothetical.

I noticed in SIN when I was there in September, they had a sign just before security saying it's an office to proceed if you have no intention to travel (or words to that effect). Edit - SG police statement here about this: Man Arrested For Misuse Of Boarding Pass.

Specifically to this situation, the QF staff would ask how you entered the terminal with a domestic BP, and once they found out about the other BP, would know you've booked at least one flight you don't intend to travel on. Wouldn't be surprised if you got flagged and the other airline was informed (by QF) and you'd be in a room with no windows getting asked lots of questions from Border Force.

It’s basically covered by the T&Cs of QFF.
“Abuse or misuse rewards, benefits, facilities”
“engaging in illegal, dishonest or fraudulent activities”

Not something I’d be willing to risk my membership over

I think a lot of people aren’t getting the hypothetical part about this.

I’ll change my hypothetical anyway. For some reason Mr or Mrs hypothetical is now doing a same day return to New Zealand on Virgin and catching a QF domestic flight that night. Now all flights are intended to be taken. So hypothetically you should have access to the Lounge with no problems.

They'll care that you hold two boarding passes and don't intend to travel on one of them. For all they know, you don't intend to travel on the international one. They'll question you to confirm this, and why you did it. There's a good chance (from their POV) you could be involved in some kind of criminal activity.

Also knowing Jetstar you’ll actually be trying to get a refund once they’ve cancelled your flight and put you on a domestic from the domestic terminal
