After a long absence, it's time to continue the trip!

Welcome to Murano Island!


First order of business is to find a Murano Glass store:


Golden Pigs anyone? The price tag certainly makes you feel like there are gold inside the glass


Of course, no trip to Murano Island is complete without a glass blowing demonstration.


This is the semi-finished product and it's still very hot, he joked we can have them if we can hold it with our hands.


Then we went to the Murano Glass Museum.


After the museum it's time to make our way to Burano Island, famous for it's colorful buildings.

It's getting late so we head back to Venice on the water ferry for dinner, time for some seafood before bidding farewell to Venice, as the train ride is tomorrow:


It's time to wrap up here due to the 10 image limit per post, next up will be the train trip to Florence.

It's time to take the high speed train to Florence, the seat certainly looks very good.


We waste no time after dropping off the luggage at the hotel and we go straight to the attractions, we went past the Florence Cathedral as we have booked the tickets there for our last day in Florence, as we will found out later this turned out to be a bad call.

Then we entered Galleria dell'Accademia to see the famous David sculpture by Michelangelo

After this we went to Uffizi Gallery, unsurprisingly the queue is massive


Thankfully we have prebooked tickets but we were there too early, so we took a walk near the river while we wait.


Finally we made it into the museum, unfortunately it's about just as crowded in the interior.


Unfortunately we struggled to appreciate most of the artworks as we go there without a tour guide, would highly suggest a tour guide for Uffizi Gallery.


After an action packed day it's time for dinner.


This wraps up day 1 in Florence, next up will be the day trip to Pisa.

Unfortunately I am currently studying for a test so I couldn't update this until January, but I am very keen to continue this after the test, stay tuned!
